To no avail the chaos refuses to pause for even a minuscule of a moment. Even amongst the misty silence of a compacted District Floor, the thoughts of others echo loudly in assumptions. And especially within the mayhem of the Training Center, upon the trafficked hour such as now, the insanity prevails heavily. Numerous options layout the enormous floor, with most sections being occupied to comfort capacity by fellow Tributes and wannabe Trainers alike. An overwhelming sensation takes over the core of being in the confusion of what to perform. There’s a dire instinct causing me to be desperate to care for another, while not even the puny girl from eight is seeking my nurturing ability.
Across the corner of my vision I study a staff searching equipment within a storage closet. Just a smidgen of solitude would surely straighten my thoughts. And rather then escaping to my eery peace of my District Floor, I scatter to that very closet the moment it’s vacant of occupancy. The knob clicks behind me, and solely minor light shines from the door’s petite window. Hustle sounds from just past the walls, and isolation coddles my core for just a fraction of time…
The knob jiggles in desire for release from my temporary break, but no success of this minor achievement follows. A sigh breaches from the depths of my throat, internally cursing the sick humor of the mysterious ones above. Sure a few dozen hours of training appears pointless to the true result of survival, but that doesn’t mean I wish to be absent from the chance…. A gentle knock patters on the door, only for more failure to respond - and retreat me to the other side of the storage, to rest in a lean of defeat.
“Wait!” Is warned to the shadowy figure of a guy the joins me in here, though with not enough leeway provided as the door clicks shut behind him as well. “The door is locked from the inside…” The dreadful information is gifted, with a sarcastic laughter to coil from myself in response.
