For so long the ocean was her home. The waves sung her to sleep at night while the stars hovered above, but now it was nothing more than a memory. A broken home shattering with every crashing wave. Not even the birds in the sky knew how to sing anymore. Every now and then someone ventured her way allowing her the chance to block out the rest of the world, yet Typhoon didn't know anything anymore. A broken dream came crashing down in the blink of an eye, and three years ago her world turned upside down. Hopeless dreams racked her mind replacing the ones she held onto for so long, and now she couldn't even remember the feeling of being rescued after her parents vanished after the tsunami when the waves she loved fought back.
Three years ago all she ever knew crashed down around her.
Frail fingers dug into the sand as the waves tug at one another. Despite the sun setting high in the sky, dark, dreary clouds swarmed her head blocking the view of the world. Beautiful colors turned black and white.
Nothing mattered anymore.
Joining them was one option.
What did she have left?
People that cared for her, and yet they all felt so very far away. Dark eyes didn't lay upon them. Distance grew between them the further she ventured from home. It just wasn't the same. The same hopeless feelings of losing her parents crept through her veins slowly devouring her, and nothing made it better. Nobody saw past the smile spread from ear to ear. People asked how she was doing, but the response was the same I'm okay.
No matter how many times she locked herself away in her room, not a single person saw the tears falling from her eyes as she begged for something, anything to make the world a better place.
What was home?
Why?
Why do I even care when nobody else cares?
A heavy heart clawed at her ribs begging for an escape. Tiny fingers wrapped around a shell lying on the ground in front of her. Sometimes the thoughts, they tortured her. Demons called her name, and the only way out was the one she regret the most. Chaos and Lightning would kill her again if she even went through it. Sometimes it felt worth it. Sometimes she just wanted to fall into the water and never emerge. Crash a boat. Jump off the cliff the wrong way.
Anything to save herself from the pain she was experiencing.
Maybe they would find the note left under her pillow as she poured her heart out for all to see. She begged for help. Begged for someone to look past the mask. To see the tears falling from her eyes. The pain. The weight of the world pressed against frail shoulders slowly pushing her under. The words were still fresh on her mind, and even thinking of them pushed her under even more.
At the beach. Need help. Save me. Someone. Anyone. Please help me. Please. I'm drowning.
Imaginary waves splashed over her head, and it took every ounce of strength remaining inside her frail body to keep herself afloat - it wouldn't last for long, and it was her only chance. The last chance for someone to save her from going under.
She always helped others. Always put them before herself because it gave her something to live for. Helping others gave her hope. It gave her a reason to get out of bed every morning, but losing her job took it all away from her.
And now she sat on the beach listening as people gathered around had fun. People didn't care that someone was hurting - Typhoon was nothing more than color of sand. To the human eye she was invisible, and yet the sound of children dancing for joy as they sprinted into the water at full speed only proved it even more.
Nobody cared.
A heavy sigh left her chest as she pushed herself into a standing position the moment her eyes locked on one of the taller cliffs not too far from where she was standing. It was then she saw the roaring waves crashing against the rocks just below. A river of tears streamed down her cheeks before dripping from the tip of her nose.
But the world was slowly turning away as the grim reaper slowly beckoned for her to follow him home.
