One of the many Capitol officials that hurry to the District before reaping, just to ensure that the scenes on the cameras match the fake narrative that they write. He spends most of his time bickering with them in the Justice Building’s office, as he does today. Usually he would spend the morning of the reaping having a family breakfast, but he was ordered to the Justice Building’s doors before the light had even hit the District. Now the sun is breaking through the windows and the bustle of the children lining up outside begins to ring into the office.
”I better get outside, sit in that chair and do absolutely nothing.” A screwed up face is delivered from the official, they must be used to his rambles now and it can’t be that bad as they come back every year. Pierre shrugs and heads out of the door; his seat burns in the sun as it waits for him.
The repeated show commences, a flash of imagery on the screens of the history long gone that is so deeply memorised in his head. As he watches, he imagines new characters in the screens, explosions now multi-coloured and the frowns flipped into the smiles. His face is neutral as it dances inside his head.
These games mark the first of his new interventions, an idea to hopefully keep him in this seat. A programme of support for all those that have had a friend or family member fall in the games. First hand experience says that he is an expert in the division. Help served on a plate for others but hopes that the waiter can finally feel the loss of his daughters. Everyone in the room will be like him and they will be there to support him too.
