Shes a cold hearted snake.

Look into her eyes.

Uh oh.

Shes been telling lies.

She never understood what it meant to be friendly. No. She was always taught that everyone was her enemy from the get go.

She strived to be a different person from the people in one, mostly because she knew that if she was going to win the games, she was going to have to be a stone cold bitch.

Someone who wasn’t afraid of looking like a villain.

Someone mean, tough, gritty.

Her family expected nothing less but perfection, even going as far as to name her so. Perfection Collins.

Eighteen.

Flawless and beautiful.

As well as deadly and cunning.

Her father started her on career training as soon as he could, mostly because she had a legacy to live up too.

You see, her father wanted her to go in the games because he never got the chance too. He was a tough man who the district thought might capsize on the weight of his shoulders.

His chance was ripped away from him because he just didn’t know how to shut his mouth.

And so from a young age, Perfection was taught to stand attention and do everything that she was told.

There was no time to argue anything, because her father left no room to do so.

When he told her to do something, she did it with grace.

However, there was a difference between her father and her, she was liked.

She was the girl who people wanted to be.

Not in a vain way, but also, in the vainest of ways.

She worked to look her best at all times, and even when she was beaten up and bruised, she always kept and aura of calmness around her.

She made sure that people did not mistake her vanity for weakness.

It was always find the strongest piece of the board and topple them over. That’s how she worked around the training facility at the least.

She was a stone cold bitch when she wanted to be. Not because she needed to be, but because she wanted to be, because being friendly got no one nowhere in one.

She strived to show people that the past tributes from one were different from her. That she would not fall into the same tropes that they did.

That she was perfection in the best way possible.

Even though she knew that cockiness also followed in her bloodline.

It was the fall of her family that cursed them so.

Cockiness.

And she knew that it was a vice that she even relied on to establish her dominance over the weaker careers.

She would look at them with her striking blue eyes and think about how she wanted to use their bones as toothpicks. How she would snap them in half if they did not keep their guard up.

And people wondered why she was like that, but she didn’t open up to many people, because that was never something she wanted to do.

But that didn’t mean that she didn’t have someone that she was close too.

It was a boy who aged out of the reaping the year she turned eighteen.

He was the only person who understood who she was down to the bleach blonde hair that she sported through the district.

He took her apart, piece by piece, studying each part like it was a treasure map to the soul.

And while she didn’t think much of it at first, she found love with a boy that knew nothing about expectations.

A boy who was blind to the ignorance of the world and lived in a world of civility and bliss.

But that didn’t stop her from trying to shake up that world.

She shook vigorously, sometimes dropping the snow globe-like world he lived and, trying to shatter every part of it into a million shards of glitter that not one person would miss.

But he found a way to break her of that mindset, and with tender words and a gentle touch, he learned that Perfection wasn’t perfect.

If anything, she was more broken than anyone he had ever met.

And that only intensified their love even more.

And her father hated ever moment of their relationship, to the point where he wanted him out of her life.

He threatened him with violence, but he only showed resilience, because he knew what it was like to have a father like him.

A father that was disappointed in the choices that their child made.

A father who wanted nothing but the best for their child.

A father who would never know what it was like to have pressure exerted on them every day.

A feeling that would never set in because they did not have to risk their lives to fight for the honor they thought they deserved.

But by Zeus strong hands, he found a way to rip them apart, and Perfection never really got over it.

Because that was her one claim to a normal life, and as much as she begged for her father to let her see him again, he forbade it.

Mr. Know it all in the flesh never realized that he did not know anything about his own daughter.

That her conviction was stronger than he ever thought.

She took the first opportunity she could to run, and as much as she wanted to stay, as much as she wanted to hope that her father could be a good man, she knew that he never would.

And so with the help of the boy she loved, she moved on.

She left him in the dust because that it what Perfection did when anyone tried to tell her that she was less than what she was.

Perfectly broken.
