Ariel; D11: CB [Princess plot] READY

I used to sing. I used to sing every day and explore and find the joy in everything around me. I am the daughter of the wealthy Triton and the unfortunate mishap of being the youngest of 7 girls. Sisters that tease and taunt and try to be my mother. I adore them for their efforts, but my mother was murdered when I was three. I'm told that I look like her so much that it's impossible that I wouldn't grow up to look exactly like her; to be her doppleganger. I admire that small bit of information and I savor every word they told me.

Being the daughter of Triton, I find that I'm often overlooked but highly guarded, so I have to be the most creative of all my sisters to withdraw from the life I was born into. My friend, Flounder, is my bad influence. He sticks with me and slips ideas out without knowing. With my intellect and his ideas, we could escape and go live somewhere near the seas of district four, if only that were possible.

When I mentioned that I used to sing, I wasn't lying. The vocal chords deteriorated from constant strain and slowly over the course of the past six years my voice vanished. I was told once by some woman I came across that body language was going to be my way of talking. My eyes and my facial expressions would tell my story. That I was expressive enough to get by without the vocals of those that could talk so I learned to use my hands to speak my words. It wasn't too hard, but it only adds the elusive personality when I want to disappear and find my way in the world.

I'm sixteen, afterall. I'm not a child anymore.
