You wake. As you’ve been told, there is only white light and weightlessness. You drift, your only anchor a strange little beeping. It shouldn’t bother you - there ought to be no troubles in the afterlife - but it does. Beep. Beep. Beep. Then, some whispers, perhaps to guide you.

Your body is heavy.

You wake.

The lights have become more organized, half a dozen hanging in halos overhead. Your right arm is stiff. You reach over and brush against an IV line. Your heart thunders.

A heavy hand comes down on your chest.

“Can you hear me? Very good. You’ve been unconscious since you fell in the arena. At that precise moment, the tracker in your arm administered a concoction to put your body into suspended animation. Once you arrived in the Capitol, we reversed the effects of the serum. I’m the surgeon who has been overseeing your recovery. You still have a long ways to go. Do you understand? You’re in the Capitol now, and your job is to rest. If you do not cooperate, we will administer more morphling. Nurse?”

You wake,

and begin your next life.

Welcome to the Vault!

You have survived the 80th Quell Games. Congratulations! And now begins the torturous rest of your days… If you wish to continue writing your character, you must agree to abide by the following terms. What happens next is entirely up to you. If you do not wish for your tribute to have survived the trauma suffered in the arena, that is your decision. Please just let Kay and Nyte know what you decide (with of course the caveat that your character is once again your character - you could decide that they die later on and we have no control over that).

Regardless of your character’s fate, please respond to this post acknowledging that you have read these terms and agree to abide by them, to the best of your ability.

1. I will not reveal the twist to anyone else, whether or not they are in the 80th Games. If anyone asks, I will tell them Kay and Nyte are working on a memorial for the tributes of these Games and needs my help.
2. I will age this tribute/character with these Games forever.
3. If my tribute/character was under 18 when reaped, I will enter them into future reapings until they are 19. Please note: you do not have to “accept” a future spot in a Games - you could swap or leave it open to volunteering.
4. There will be only one victor of the 80th Games. We, as the writers, acknowledge this. No other characters - even the living ones - will be able to claim victor status. They will be bound the usual district rules, e.g. unable to travel across district lines without risking the Detention Center (with exception for site-wide plots), and will not instantly come into wealth and fame (though they could certainly build on this experience).
