Marley plucked the leaf after his owner's fallen asleep because he thought the latter wanted him to. But, a messenger bird without a recipient was bound for some trouble. He soared through the heavens and then, he got too close to the ground, his tiny heart pulsating dangerously in its tiny ribcage. When exhaustion overtook him, soft talons kissed the ground near the tide pools for rest, not knowing that he'd dropped the leaf somewhere, beside another tribute.
