Into The Next {Auto's Awakening // Larceny}

You are in a room.

There are no doors, there are no windows. Before you is a table. On its surface, two buttons. One is red. One is blue. The red one kills the person you love trapped in another identical room. The blue one sacrifices your own life to spare the one you love. Some would choose to live, others would choose to die. But in my room there is no table with buttons to press. Just a screen and my sister.

Psychosis paints the picture of her survival. Before her eyes she watched her brother break, shatter, lull into silence. Two entities intertwined in genesis separated in death. In the abyss of my absence her ship has sunk into the shadowy seas. Pain personifies the iridescent illumination of her eyes and cruelty corrupts the cracks of her lips. As a  lonesome singularity split from its eternally adjacent secondary shape, she travels on in distortion. 

In confrontation, I witness the final flutter of her eyes. She joins with the earth and my skin stiffens. Panic like a drowning force of frigid water wells up from the center of my being. Fingers furl in taught knuckles of white atop a crumbling chest. I try to stand but stumble to a sudden fall. The strings from above which guide my puppet frame are slack and useless. The world is cold and the surroundings shading to bleakness. The Reaper holds my sister steady while torturing her other half. He caresses her cheeks while slicing my soul. She is not his, yet the mere minutes without her are unbearable.

I simply want a button to press.

I'm unsure of how long I remain within my petrified state of suspension. Hands reach out from the weary void of my mangled vision only to withdraw from the sudden screeches of my lips. Certainly they see a beast and not a boy, a vile creature gripping to the impulses of his instincts. They see the shadow of His marks. The defenses of a child betrayed by his Father. 

There is ease in the edge of a needle.

My eyes open in slow sluggish blinks. A bed lays beneath my back and a machine sings the song of my beating  heart. A figure floats on the edge of the blur soon moving closer at signs of my stirring. I hardly comprehend his sentences, his words, anything except for Auto. Suddenly he's gasping with his hands futilely gripping at my skin. The serpent fingers of my hands are constricting tighter because of the only idea brightly burning in my mind: threat. My grasp is broken by a wave of white bodies and storm of black masks. However, there is no needle this time. 

Back on his feet the doctor points to the nearby medical area, the zone for arriving tributes. My feet are on the floor with my fingers flicking off the heart monitor in seconds. I don't know what state I'm in or what darkness from my demons is present, but I need to see her. The torture needs to end. 

"You look like shit, now get up."

It's almost too easy how the gears of my internal machinery begin to function back by her side. My emotions still seem shaded but my relief in her being here is infallible. From the fall of death and her eruption into ash, she rises with the illumination of a reborn phoenix. Her smirk is still sewn by the threads of mischief and her sass still spurs from the hammering of her light heart. I didn't even realize the full extent of my disarray until this return of our harmonic convergence. 

Where one is empty the other is lost. Emotions act as strangers within my rebirth, but reality seems askew in her's. Although I am certain we are slaves to a hell of humankind, I know these not to be the halls of Hades. There are no demons or devils or blood burning screams, only monsters sharing a similar skin of Snowy white. However, I hold back the obvious urge to correct such thinking directly. We each need our own ways of coping with the burdens of our new lives. I opt for the act of staying subtle for the time being. 

"Couldn't fly before, can't fly now."

My shoulders shrug before offering her a hand to help stand.

"Definently still in Hell too, has the same amount of pointless things to do. Watch children kill each other, be bossed around, what should we start with first?"
