The beginning of the fifty-third year of the Dragon Age was marked by a wave of assassinations and assassination attempts against numerous political figures across the face of Thedas. The Emperor of Orlais, the Archon of Tevinter and King Markus of Nevarra were slain. Attempts were made on King Alistair of Ferelden and the Divine as well.
