No one trusts me anymore.

You bring one baby gator into the house and you're looked at as a monster. No one told me that gators are protective of their babes. Lardo was cute and I just had to save em from the words that flew above. I swear my brothers and sisters and cousins think they can just walk all over me, but I have just as much of a say as they do. The lot of them can just shut their mouths about the gator incident, but they never do.

I'll always be plagued by the gator that stood outside our place, grunting for her babe back. I got scolded for that one, but hey, what's a kid to do when we live in a swamp area with absolutely nothing but mud for miles. Sure, there's always the kids who I scuffle with, but none of them have learned pulling hair ends a fight faster than biting does. You'd think they'd catch on faster, but nope, kids are stupid. At least, there will always be cool frogs and snakes to catch. People are too difficult to understand.

I've caught girls staring at me and whispering into each other's ears before. They're always shooting those judging glances towards me. Jokes on them, I'm a better shot than all of them, so my glares hit back harder. Who needs pretty girls with pretty eyes and soft skin, I rather like my rough hands and messy hair. Who needs them when I've got my family and the swamp behind me.
