You've always spent a good amount of time in the mayor's offices, but ever since telling Reggie that you wanted to run, you've spent even more time than before here. You like learning everything that there is to know about holding the position, like learning about the different channels you need to use to communicate with the rest of the district mayors, how to coordinate inter-district trade, how to work with the Keepers to ensure that supply trucks going in and out won't get stopped too often.

You like the infrastructure of it all.

It's mind boggling, really, but fascinating. There is so much more to it than you think you really realized.

When Reggie's assistant says that she has Valentino Salazar on the line, you expeect her to be the one to answer the call. After all, he'd clearly called the office intending to speak to her, but—you pick it up, she directs, and you only allow yourself a half second before picking up the landline.

"Mr. Salazar," you say into the receiver, keeping your voice level. "This is Kieran Emberstatt. What can I do for you today?"
