    He was born of cigarette smoke and shredded wires. The purr of a battered radio, the spark of a disobedient cable. From birth it was nothing but expectations. The expectation that he would provide, that he would work hard. The expectation to suppress his emotions and walk in respect and fear of those superior to him. His father was built of steal and shattered bottles. A solid man, but sharp when angered.

He resembled his father the least of all his brothers. He was a spitting image of his mother, seemed like his father favored him the most because of it. For how stone-faced a man he was, he struggled to say no to Emrys. Emrys had hair that was as dark as a ravens feathers, he kept it longer then his father liked. His eyes like two pools of brown sugar honey. He hardly dressed himself, a stained white tank top, and a set of tattered blue jeans. His long hair slicked back with his own concoction of sweat and grease, and a cigarette could almost always be seen dancing between his lips.

    Emrys spent his days as a youth working with his father and brothers at the hydroelectric dam, a lot of maintenance work was required to keep the worlds power supply in order. There were so many of them they had their own sector. They became known as the Koyne brothers and were often scheduled together, or in rotating shifts to manage the same areas of the dam.

Between all of them they made a pretty decent living, each of them all at least providing for themselves, while the older ones provided for their various spouses and children. Emrys was the most likely to skip out of work and let his brothers work a bit harder. He was the type that would much rather spend his time engaging in petty theft and minor crimes. By the age of fifteen his father had to bail him out of far too many threats of incarceration.

Emrys was a firm believer that 'the system was fucked, so why follow it anyway'. Though most everyone agreed, the fear cast by the Capitol was enough to keep them in line. But not him, he was carved of a different wood, like sleek obsidian he stood out among the rest, he would watch the world crumble, or he would crumble himself. The inhale of smoke, the exhale of fantasy, it wouldn't be long before this ended in misery.
