Whitney has never felt like this before.
She can't remember the last time someone made her smile the way that Poppy does, the last time she let someone make her smile the way that Poppy does. So broad that she can feel it through her whole entire body, like she is smiling all the way down to the tips of her fingers and toes, like the happiness she feels has taken over every single part of her and there will never be anything else. It's a terrifying thought really, one that Whitney has no idea what to do with, but she can't stop feeling like this, can't stop wanting to spend every single day sitting there on the countertop in the kitchen while Poppy rifles through the refrigerator.
"Anything good?" Whitney asks the red haired girl, all bright eyed and feeling brand new. It's always like this whenever she's with Poppy, even when she's in the worst kind of mood. The moment the other girl steps into the room, it's like the world gets just a little bit brighter, a little bit kinder, a little bit warmer. A little bit more like home. Like Whitney doesn't mind so much having to occupy her own body as long as Poppy is there to smile at her. "Shall I prepare you a five course dinner?"
