I take off before Luke can catch me again. I'm not gonna leave him, I'm not gonna go far, I just need some space.

I dunno.
I need something I can't have.
But there isn't really anywhere for me to go, not when everything is so wide and open and I can see the line of the horizon when I spin around. It makes me a little homesick. I can still see Luke in my peripherals, because I don't want him to go yet, I don't want him to leave me too, he can't. But I'm not a crybaby, I'm tough as nails and twice as sharp, and if he sees me like this I'd have to punch him.
So I just sit in the snow, chin on my knees, arms around my legs. My face feels cold because my stupid tears just keep freezing over and there's frost gathering on my eyelashes and I can't feel my fingers but I just keep staring at the gross grey sky. Because Anari's gonna look at that sky forever now.
He deserved something better. He deserved the blue skies in Ten, the kind with the fluffy white clouds that you could just watch for hours, lying on your back in one of the fields and pretending to see shapes.
I'm still looking at the sky when there's a shuffling sound, and I barely even jerk. I just look over blearily, suddenly too tired from the day to even care that it might be someone here to club my chest in too. But it's that stupid wolf from yesterday, padding nearer with a bowed head and something about it makes me snap, "What do you want?"
