"Can I just say something?" I cover my mouth politely as I swallow the last of my breakfast pastry, offering Poe a warm and welcoming smile. "I know it's not my place, but you... hardly ever get anything to eat. Is something wrong?"

I raise my hands defensively, not wanting to push any buttons. My intentions are always good. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I also enjoy a light lunch. But sometimes you just have to wonder, is there a reason someone picks the cheap food? Why would you torture yourself like that?"

I lower myself into the chair across from them, placing my purse on the table and taking out a few dollars. I don't hesitate to hand them over. "Really, just for my peace of my mind, go get yourself a muffin. My treat. I just want to know you're taking care of yourself."

Yes, I'm so generous. It's only my nature.

Thank god I'm high for this. Camilla approaching is never a good thing. She's like a cat with a dead rat in it's mouth, god it must be so sour in there. Watching her demurrly try to nibble a pastry is like watching a raccoon eating trash.

It's just unfortunate that she's so smoking hot.

I don't hate her, it isn't that. I just cannot abide someone that uses money as a crutch to elevate themselves above others.

"Camilla, I already told you, the weed last night was on me," I tell her loudly enough for the whole cafeteria to hear, a polite smile shot right back at her. "You can keep your money, seriously, my treat."

I wink for good measure.

"The patients at the retirement home will REALLY appreciate that MEDICINAL weed, THANK YOU, Poe." I lock eyes with them furiously, smiling with all of my teeth on display. What a nasty little trick. So underhanded, and mean, and uncalled for.

After I offered them money from my own pocket? I can't believe this. My fingers snatch up my dollar bills, regardless. I'm not tipping someone to attack me in front of everyone. This is so telling of the kind of person that Poe is. Just awful.

"And they told me to tell you, if you ever need to pick up an extra shift or two to cover up your loose ends, they'd love to have you. Really!" I tilt my head to the side, so sincerely sweet. "I mean, it's not like you have any school clubs to occupy your time."

It's sad, really.
