Country Fair Week Two - Shooting Range

Come one come all and take your shot at having the best shot! In this event we’re looking for the sharpest shooters in all of District Nine.This event will test even the most confident of gun handlers. This event will consist of a total of four rounds that grow more difficult the further you progress. Each round will be scored based upon accuracy, but we love some added flair for entertainment as well. Don’t forget about the viewers!

There will be three types of firearms: pistols, shotguns, and rifles, and they will be randomly assigned the first three rounds to test your proficiency with each weapon and will last a total of sixty seconds, so make each shot count! The last round will be the gun of your choosing. The top scores of the round will progress, but only to face a more difficult challenge ahead! Ear protection will be provided since we still need you to be able to hear your name at the Reaping.

The winner will receive a travel permit to District Ten for up to one year! 2nd place will receive a years supply of pie! So you can get your pie on anytime of the year! And lastly, lucky third will receive a custom made mug, inspired by one of our recent victors, Flynn Garner, engraved with the words 'Sharp Shooter'.

The Rules

The three types of guns will each have their own advantages and disadvantages. In your initial post, you will roll a 1-3 to see which weapon you will be using for that round. Posting in each round can be done in as few or as many posts as you see fit, but be sure to write at least 100 words minimum! Just make sure to include the proper amount of dice rolls. After everyone has been posted for Round One, the lowest score will be eliminated and then you are able to post for the next round.

Weapon 1: Pistol

This firearm provides the most amount of shots, however; it is the least accurate of the three.

Weapon 2: Shotgun

This firearm has slightly longer reload time, so you will have less shots, but it will be more accurate.

Weapon 3: Rifle

The least amount of ammunition, but the most accurate by far.

Round One

This round will consist of dummies shaped like a variety of animals. The more accurate you are, the more points you receive. Head shots will be worth 2 points, any other shot will be worth 1 point, and missing will be worth 0 points.

Round Two

This round there will be a variety of glass bottles lined up atop a fence. They are a variety of different shapes, sizes, and colors. This round will be scored on accuracy only.

Round Three

This round will be apples atop the losers heads, don’t miss! Kidding! These apples will be all around the shooting range, some more difficult than others. This round will be based on accuracy.

Round Four

This round will be the most difficult of all, flying objects. Five will be launched through the air for you to hit. This round will be based on accuracy and time. Each weapon will have five bullets, and the same accuracy applies. However, a time bonus will be added at the end, and the more accurate the weapon, the higher the potential roll for time can be. The person with the highest score and lowest time will be named the grand winner and sharpest shooter!
