Ice Pillars

A large plane, with thinner snow, and harder ground. Perhaps you are standing atop a great permafrost. So it would seem, with aggressive pillars jutting from the ground, and pointing to the sky with accusation. The winds here pick up, making this the coldest part of the Arena. Maybe the Gamemakers have placed valuable items atop these pillars, for those brave or stupid enough to climb them.
