	Nothing felt right anymore. Nat was dead. Killed by my clone, and I saw his face appear in the sky. Had it not been for Circe showing up when she did, my face would've fallen right next to his. I try mustering up all the strength I have to carry on. It's in that moment, Circe pushed the sponsorship containers towards me. Removing the shin guards from inside the container, I place them on her legs. Maybe they'll protect her and keep her alive. I try to keep a smile on my face hiding the amount of pain I'm going through. The heartbreak. The way she left me alone. The way that she doesn't love me, but I can't leave her behind. Slowly I removed the gloves from the container, and I open her hands carefully, I slide the gloves onto her fragile hands. "Somebody must love me." It feels like a blade sliced clean through me. My heart sinks deep into the pits of my stomach. “Don’t," I don't understand anymore. Nothing makes sense as the words from the fighting spat across the battleground, but when she presses her lips into mine, I don't move away - I sit there confused, yet I allow the love to take control. It feels like someone released butterflies into my stomach until she pulled away leaving me hopeless once more. Without another word, I move away for her heading over to the wall of the train, but my eyes remain fixed on her as she removes the sewing kit and spreads the blanket across her lap. Part of me has wondered why she's trying to make a blanket in a mess like this, but maybe it's something to keep her sane. It's hard to believe how much I fell for her. When I first met her, she scared me. Her and Elya and Olivia. Olivia was dead. Elya was dead. All that remained now representing district two was Circe and myself. Even the mentors frightened me. It's almost impossible to sleep. Gunner most definitely hates me now. I can't even imagine what the people back home are thinking, yet I can imagine what it looked like. A friend killing a friend. It's a thought I won't ever get out of my mind for as long as I can live. Mason, I need you. Please help me. I need Mason. I need his strength. I need him to walk beside me until my life is over. Nat. Even though I didn't kill him, I can't remove the horrible image from my mind. Slowly bringing my knees to my chest, I rest my head against them fighting against the sobs that threaten to take over my body. But as Gunner and Circe move to get off the train, I follow them into the depths of another day controlled by the gamemakers.

Rumbles from above woke Gloworm from a restful sleep. He doesn't stir, waiting patiently for the noises to recede so he may return to his five-day nap.

The noises don't.

Usually the tremors faded within moments as box-metal-worms on their open-aired paths rattled noisily away, but today is different. Today there is the distinctive muted screech of metal on metal that he's grown very used to, and a crash that doesn't quite fit with the program. Gloworm wriggles in his little tunnel as more rumbles come from directly overhead, like... prey.

His stomach growls at the thought. As he prepares himself to check out this new development, Gloworm supposes at the very least he can pop his head up to say hello.

	Gunner and Circe were gone. Maybe it's for the best because now I don't have to worry about protecting them anymore, but at the same time it makes me feel horrible. What if they die? What if Circe dies? I can't lose her. Even though she doesn't love me, I love her. I've spent my entire time in the arena making sure she survives, yet now I can't. I let Elya die. I let Nat die. I don't know what else to do. Surviving alone isn't enough anymore. I want to meet Mason again. I don't want to keep him waiting, but I know he's standing there with his arms wide open waiting to greet me. Circe and Gunner don't need me anymore. They never needed me. The ground shakes below me, and it's a terrifying feeling. It's like an earthquake beneath the scrap resting here, and I'm trying to run as fast as I possibly can. Yet whatever is making the ground move follows behind me. My heart races beneath my chest. I need them. Gunner and Circe. Nat and Elya. Mason. I need all of them right now. It takes all I have to not call out for them. It takes every ounce of sheer will not to run my sword across my neck. Soon the ground erupts around me, and something is bursting from it trying to take a piece of me with it. It brings back memories of when this happened to Circe. A giant worm tried swallowing her, and it almost succeeded. It almost devoured her, but this time it's me. I'm the one it's trying to digest. Mason, please. I beg my brother to save me whether he takes my life away to join him, or whether he helps me kill this thing. It doesn't matter. I just want to be free. I just want to find Circe and Gunner. Gritting my teeth I grip my sword as its stomach (it has a stomach right?) rumbles beneath my feet, and I attack it to the best of my ability.

The creature he'd swallowed was large, and Gloworm had to work his muscles to pull it right into his belly. With that done, he settles upon the dusty ground, patiently awaiting the satisfaction that comes with eating.

He doesn't expect his prey to attack. Prey that fight back present a challenge that Gloworm isn't prepared to face - except that he's sort of in this awkward situation where he already is. His insides burn from something too hot for him to handle, and Gloworm thrashes with pain and no way to expel the feeling. Somehow he thinks that bleeding on the inside would be a lot more bearable than being touched by fire.

	Thankfully, I had done something to it. I felt the heat of the fire brushing against the worm as it slowly starts pulling me down. It's trying to devour me like it wanted me for dinner. My mind was racing, and I had to get out of this mess. I had to kill it. It was hurting. Each second grew longer and longer as I fought against it with all my weight trying to pull myself away from the danger around me. A small smile forms across my face for only a split second as the imagine of Circe covered in worm guts and stomach juices was set free from the worm, yet the thought goes away quickly when I realize that will be me in a moment if I don't do something quick. It's an awful feeling. One of being trapped. One where I'm so helpless, but I can't just give up. I don't want to die by a worm. I want to live. I want to find Circe and Gunner. I don't know if I'll ever see them again, but if I don't get out of here I can't see them anymore. I need them more than ever. I want to talk about this experience, but right now, I can't. Please let them be okay. I wonder what Odysseus, Torka, Oli, Octavia, and Gaia are thinking. Are they cheering for me? Do they want to be destroyed by the worm? It's a harsh feeling because I'm a fake career. I've never trained a day in my life, but I've gone pretending like I have. Without Circe and Gunner around, I'm nothing but a meal for a worm. I've always wanted to die, but I have to make sure one of them goes home. Especially Circe. She's from home. Elya is dead. Olivia is dead. Nat is dead. All of them, and here I am sliding down the throat of a critter controlled by the gamemakers for death. Gritting my teeth, I ready myself to attack because I will break free of this thing because I have to find them. I have to at least see my allies one last time.
