OPAL
So there was someone, someone in the Capitol that he cared for. Relief blossomed in her chest, and her sad smile switched over to a fond one. It was nice to know that he had someone he cared for, his actions had spoken more then his words as he had bit back his sentence. Opal was sure that his agreement -although mingled with sadness and regret- was a good thing. No matter what kind of person you were it would always be a good thing. She knew Scout had a twin brother, and from the few brief exchanges she had had with the girl she knew that Kaiser Fray was her weakness, but at the same time when it came to it, and she was fighting for her life, he'd be her strength.
She wondered what kind of person Benson cared for, it must have been someone important enough to sway a Gamemaker's way of thinking. She didn't mind, though, not knowing, as long as there was some part of him that was still open to those kinds of things. Suddenly he seemed more human, more vulnerable, someone she could be friends with. He was, deep down, a good guy, it had simply reached the point where he had stopped seeing what was in front of him because he had forgotten how to. Hopefully this person, whoever they were, could bring it all back to him, and even though she didn't want anyone to suffer as she had, or how the tributes did she truly wanted him to understand. He was getting closer.
"Cherish whoever that person is, you're going to need them." She said, moving away from the door to sit down on the couch. She sunk into the cushions, closing her eyes briefly as she took in a deep breath, soothing her skittish emotions. Everyone needed someone they could rely upon, someone they wanted to protect, it made you stronger, it gave you another reason to live and fight and make the most of this world. During the past year she'd gained more and more reasons, she had Ky and Mace and Katelyn, her precious friends.
"Feel free to take a seat," she spoke softly, waving a hand in a direction of the chairs that littered the room. Until that point she hadn't even thought about why Benson was here, his first few sentences that had attacked her as he had burst into the room were already a fleeting memory. "What was it that you needed?" She queried. Grunting softly she shifted, stretching her arms above her head as she turned her brown gaze once more towards Benson.
