Oh no,
Not me, I never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who stole the world
Not me, I never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who stole the world
It was just another boring day in four for Bell. Wake up, take the trash out, smoke, make some shitty breakfast for Delilah and Nicole, eat whatever's left over, and head out for work. Same routine as every other day. Yet today felt different in a way for him. Today almost felt like it had... potential. To not be as shitty as usual? Maybe if he was lucky. For something eventful to actually happen? He goddamn hoped so. Stepping outside, the smell of the nearby ocean filled his nostrils as he took in a deep breath, coughing on the release due to what was most likely impending lung cancer. "God fucking damnit." he mumbled to himself as he stumbled down the steps, simultaneously recovering from his coughing fit.
What day is it today? he thought to himself. It had to be Monday, he was free from work to smoke away half of his entire week's paycheck the past two days, but he knew he had to work today. "Is it even worth it to go in today? Are they really gonna notice?" He thought to himself once again. He was a deckhand, mainly taking maintenance of cargo transported on and off of The Wretched Whore.
He always thought the name was funny, but also so damn stupid at the same time. What respectable captain names their ship The Wretched Whore? He had to hear the story behind that name at some point.
"Screw it." He said to himself as he caught sight of the docks, and rather than heading on his usual path towards them, turned the complete opposite direction, and instead heading towards the training center. He hadn't stepped inside the center in almost a whole year now. No time for career training when you're managing your own problems, let alone both of your younger sisters as well.
He headed on towards the training center, and peered in through one of the glass doors. Nothing of interest to him anymore really. He'd learned enough in his time there to be able to handle himself, and what were the chances he got picked in the reaping in the next year anyways? There was always the reality that a Conway might get picked, and he'd already promised to volunteer for Nicole or Del if they were reaped, but again, what're the chances of that even happening?
Moving on past the glass doors, he stopped where he thought would be ideal for a smoke break, and leaned against one of the walls of the training center. He pulled a cig out of the back of his jeans pocket, and slowly lit it with the blue lighter he always kept on his person. He had only taken one puff when he heard the glass doors he had peered through only minutes before, abruptly slam open, followed by the sounds of a pair of feet exiting the center. He paid no mind to it until he heard the pair coming his direction. Not wanting to make unnecessary eye contact, he slightly glanced towards the noise, only to see a boy, presumably his age coming towards him. He had a confident posture and a smile on his face that screamed "cocky", nonetheless he was attractive, and Bell's mood went from calm to intimidated in the blink of an eye. He quickly averted his gaze and pretended not to see the boy coming towards him. He put the cig back in his mouth, not even realizing the boy had said something to him, and within seconds, the cigarette was pulled from his own mouth and now in the stranger's. He blew the smoke from his lungs and passed the cigarette back to Bell, bearing a big smirk the entire time.
"What the fuck was that?" Bell thought to himself. He'd never, EVER been treated like that. His fists clenched, but before he could do anything, the boy's mouth began moving.
"Now, what's a handsome guy like you doing outside of the career training center? Planning to join or just hanging out?"
Bell was speechless. No one flirted with him, no one really even talked to him unless they had to or he owed them something. Before he could even reply, the boy's mouth began moving again.
"The name's Enzo, by the way, what's yours gorgeous?"
"Enzo huh? Interesting name" he replied, "The names Bellamy. Friends call me Bell, but considering how you just approached me? Call me Bellamy." a chuckle escaped from his lips as he thought about what else the boy had said. "Planning to join the training center? As if. Been there, done that, learned all I needed to. Half the shit they teach you in there is bullshit anyways, you learn much more from actual scenarios out on the streets, as surprising as that may sound to a 'career alpha male' such as yourself." He glanced the boy up and down after he said this. He was clearly big about his training, his arms showed definition and he was in incredible shape. Along with that he was handsome, and definitely a sweet-talker. "Probably get whatever you want with that attitude and those words of yours don't ya?" he was still incredibly pissed about the cigarette, which was still burning in his clutch. He put the smoke back to his mouth, inhaled slowly, and blew the smoke just above Enzo's head, looking him dead in the eyes and smiling. This could be interesting.
