Cousin of the late Xanthus Grimm, Leo is an incredibly childish illegal animal collector. She's scorned by her wannbe Capitolite family for speaking to anyone and doing anything that strikes her fancy.

She wears a coat filled with everything you could possibly imagine - from handfuls of glitter to small hedgehogs and is well practised in both stealing livestock from the Capitol-bound trains and taming anything with a heartbeat.

Her cousin Nero's robots confuse her, as they refuse to obey.

She's completely wild, prone to biting and scratching and spilling her every thought without hesitation.

Edith lives in her own world. A swirling dreamscape of clouds and blank canvas, she's able to build whatever her heart desires. She never goes without - her vivid land is limitless, her imagination vast.

Sometimes, she doesn't even hear the voices that call to her from reality, but even she can usually tell the difference between the two words. Being called 'childish' one day long ago scared her - she's terrified that one day her kingdom will evaporate and she'll be left with the painful, too-bright reality that she sometimes feels creeping into her consciousness.

Because of this, she carries charcoal with her wherever she goes, scrawling her world onto paper, cardboard, fabric and any surface she can find in an effort to preserve her world, lest it be forgotten. Sometimes, when she cannot find her precious stick of charcoal, she flies into a rage in both lands, setting things ablaze in an effort to produce more of the material.

She's dreadfully afraid of fire, and yet the terror is so gripping she cannot help but burn whatever is near to the ground to continue her careful documentation.

Desperate for both attention and approval, Hollyn is a hardworking career. Although she's not exceptionally skilled at anything, she's endlessly persistant. Despite being a member of one of the wealthier families in the District, the girl has always held within her a drive to be the best at whatever she does - unfortunately, nothing she deems worthy of her time comes naturally to her.

Always out for herself, Hollyn has been known to lie and cheat to get what she wants, and seems to think nothing of crossing others to get her way. She's primarily a fighter and viciously competitive.

Her high-and-mighty airs draw out an ache of longing in many of her more shallow peers, and for this reason Hollyn is the selfish and affected queen of her own, tiny world, perpetually terrified her band of airheaded followers will realise she is not at all as deserving as she makes herself out to be.

There is no doubt that Etta had an unfortunate life in her early years. After narrowly escaping dying before she even entered the world, the little girl was snatched away from her sick mother and left on the doorstep of the Community Home.

Her parents were told she died, and she grew up quiet and reserved. A watcher and a follower, Etta was always happy to follow instructions, and always seemed wise for her years.

The neglect she suffered as a charge of the District gave way to a series of moments which endangered her life, before she was eventually adopted by the Shore family - a rich career household with many children.

The princess of the Fray family, the youngest member of the family is demanding and greedy, having been spoiled by her parents and older siblings throughout her childhood.

She's bratty and bossy, known to boss around people much older than her and snap fiercly when she doesn't get her way. Sophie has a hot temper and flies easily into fits of greif and rage. She feels everything much more acutely than those around her, making her sensitive only to her own troubles.

A dancer, Sophie's imperfections are all too clear to her. She punishes her body physically, and her ballet, which began as an escape, has morphed into a way to strain her exhausted limbs and feel her ribs just a little more the next morning.

Passionate and outspoken, Willow has a strong set of beliefs that she won't change for anyone. She's interested in politics and change, and completely unafraid to have an opinion.

She has very little regard for what others think of her, and trains as a career not because she feels pressured to, but because she enjoys the competition it brings.

Her siblings describe her as both stubborn and snarky, and it's true that she's filled to the brim with cold, unwaveringly resolute combacks. An expert at remaining calm and collected, it is very rare that Willow loses control of herself.

After her sister Luxe tried and failed to die, Dahlia understood exactly how to prise attention from her distant parents. She didn't want to die, she just wanted to bleed enough to keep their eyes on her.

It worked, of course, but despite filling the bathtub with blood and carving pictures into her flesh, she did not die. The explaination of course, was that she could not. Determined to test her limits and prove her immortality, Dahlia would torture herself endlessly, showing off exactly how invinsible she was.

This systematic abuse lead to lapses in her memory - at times, she is unable to recall anything at all and demands answers from everybody around her. It also lead to her ending up living alongside her sister in beaucroix reformery for wayward young ladies.

A young man with an obsession with freedom, Oswald enjoys running barefoot through the district. His parents consider him irresponsible - rarely he arrives home before dawn, and whisky and cigarettes are his favourite ways to raise their eyebrows. 


Ever since he was a tiny boy, he acted as though the world belonged to him. He was a fierce protector of his large family. Nothing, still, is more important to Oswald than the saftey of his sisters and brothers, and he would do anything to put a smile on their faces. 

Oswald finds the good in everything, and constantly wears a smile as though he doesn't know how to frown. He's cheery, bright and daring, the careless fun he carries around with him contageous.

Wary and cautious, Omnia questions the movites of everyone, and struggles to trust those around him. He's superstitious and struggles with making choices for himself. 


He's desperate to believe in something. For this reason, he seems constantly trying to find somebody to follow. He wishes more than anything he could hold faith in God, but try as he might he cannot believe. 

Omnia is very afraid of making his own mistakes, and is prone to hesitating. After the death of his eldest brother, he was protected by his only remaining brother, Aliquote. After this one remaining sheild ran away to find a better place and abandoned young Omnia, his father began to abuse him.

The boy holds anger toward his cruel father, sick and powerless mother and both brothers, all of which he feels let him down. 

Although he is not confident, Omnia maintains a grim outlook on life, believing that he is unable to save himself from his situation at the moment, but that if he could only make the right choices, things would improve.

Although she spent most of her life as an only child, doted on by her father, Kitty has found herself with countless brand-new siblings in her cousins, who her father was entrusted to care for after their parents untimely death.

The new, mismatched family was deeply involved in a feud against a rival family, and Kitty did her best to involve herself completely in it. She's naturally curious and adventurous - always acting without a plan and with the best of intentions.

Her overenthusiasm about everything often results in her needing to be rescued from assorted situations. She's cheerful, bright and persistent, however still carries a little of the selfish air that comes with having to share the one parent you have left after so long.

Completely shameless about everything she does, Kitty believes wholeheartedly in her imaginary friend, Iggy, who's been her constant companion ever since the death of her mother when she was small.

Quiet and sullen, Arabelle is filled with the silence of a thousand midnights. She's both broody and gothic, her mood swinging easily between rage and despair. Born the second of a set of twins, Arabelle found life at the same time as her mother found death. 

Convinced that she was cursed and that her love for her mother killed her, Arabelle detached herself from those she liked best in an effort to break the cycle. She killed her father easily and became manic and paranoid at the prospect of murdering her twin to finally end the dark magic. 

Arabelle is a healer along with her sister, although only Isadora seems capable of healing. Both of them practise witchcraft, and Ara spent years coming close but not being able to do away with her sister. Isadora grew sickly, and despite wanting to end her suffering, Arabelle can't manage to do what she is sure she must.

She's entirely adoring of her mother to the point of being clingy - part of her hangs on to the childish belief that Lethe is a princess due to her Victor's crown. 

Classically spoiled, Eden enjoys the attention of adults and her peers alike. Frequently she lies, having no trouble spinning tales to get what she wants. She's selfish and unashamedly precocious in a way only a small child can be, adoring be pampered by stylists each year during the games and learning to resent the monotony of school. 

She struggles to respond to instructions and is strong minded. Willing to do as she pleases but clever enough not to be rude, Eden is adored by most of the adults she meets. Blessed with a sweet smile and rosy cheeks, the child is aware of her power and happy to use it.

Tallulah is a conjoined twin - joined at the hip in a very literal way to her sister Peregrine. They share everything from blood circulation to a bed, unable to be parted from each other and knowing nothing but the other's company. 

Despite Peregrine longing to be free from the confinements of her sister, Tallulah would gladly remain that way forever. She is resistant to change of any kind, and devating from the life she knows scares her more than anything. She appreciates the strong and bold Peregrine speaking for her, holding her hand when she is afraid and helping her with everything she needs. The prospect of speaking out in the darkness and being greeted by only silence is a common theme in Tallulah's nightmares. 

Shy but always smiling, Tallulah is the positivity and light of the Lyons family. She likes things just as they are, no matter how that may be, and she's hardworking. Musical and intellectual, the girl struggles with speaking in public or being seen in general. A lifetime of strange looks has made her want nothing more than to hide behind the drawn blinds of her bedroom and whisper to Peregrine forever.

Born the youngest in a large family, she is filled with endless plans and boundless cheek, with very little respect for anybody and a high opinion of herself. She has a tendancy for choosing less adventurous followers as friends - the kind of people who look apon her with admiration and cannot believe what she has just done. 

A frequent runaway, Harriet resists the strict, dark tone in her household and the constant fighting between her family. Ever since she was a child, she's longed to escape and never come back, but she's incredibly afraid of being alone and ends up trailing back, hanging her head, incredibly soon. 

She's impatient and flighty, making choices without thinking and regretting them later. A theif not because she needs anything but because she's addicted to the thrill, Harriet learned to avade authority at a very young age.

Arwen grew up the eldest of five children with two loving parents and plenty of smiles to go around. Just after she turned twelve, however, a terrible illness took the lives of her entire family and left her alone. She arrived on the doorstep of Sycamore house stubborn and belligerent, determined not to be happy ever again. 

She struggled for a long while, not allowing herself to become close to anyone and resisting the kindness of the children there. Arwen was prone to flying into fits of rage from which only Silas could calm her. She would harm herself, cutting and burning her skin as punishment for surviving while her brothers and sisters did not. 

It was this burning that began a fire in the attic of Sycamore house. She endangered the lives of everybody inside, and although nobody was hurt, lives were risked to save Arwen from the flames. Half of the house turned to ashes and Arwen blamed herself even more. 

She became angry and filled with self pity, hating herself just as much as those around her, understanding her selfishness but unable to mend it. In the years that followed, she matured, but remained self-focused and irrational, finding her past difficult to cope with.

An ameteur detective with an endlessly curious mind, Ada tends to stumble headfirst into trouble in the name of justice. She's fiercly interested in making sure no crimes go unpunished and good is restored to the world, however her techniques are often clumsy and childish.

Although she's mostly content in following the lead of her best friend Carmen much of the time, Ada does have a mind of her own. She gets carried away with her own thoughts frequently, forgetting to mention imporant information that she's managed to pick up with her surprising obervational skills. 

Sweet and kind, Ada's quest for things to be right stems from her abandonment as a baby and a feeling that she was wronged before she was old enough to fight back against it. She's loyal and bold, never hesitating to do what her morals suggest she should.
