he's born in 3 but makes it to 4 before he turns sixteen. his father is an electric tycoon, and heph is a bastard, so the most logical solution when the rumours start and the news gets out is to run away before he's sent away. it's hard with only a leg and a half - he can't hike across the border, but he does stumble across a group of wandered that make it a little easier.

he finds poseidon in 4 - or poseidon finds him, and the rest is history. he picks up engineer work and makes weapons for the crawleys - better than anything they've had before. he goes through three different prosthetic designs every month and forgets his cane in the workshop every weekend. sometimes his knee aches where his leg ends, but then dio tries to convince him to go out or athena meets him at the library, and he can forget about it.

on the quiet days, heph will tinker with the little jewels and the coil of silver wire in his drawer and try to work up the courage to talk to 'dite. dio laughs when she shows up to the shop and heph accidentally knocks over a tool box.
