Snowball Fight!
This year for Ratmas, regular members and retired staff were given permission (thank you Kay!) to run an event and so, for this day of Ratmas, we're going back to a happy winter's past -- we're having a snowball fight! Wrap up warm, for snow fights aren't worth frostbite for. Make gif threads as you throw snowballs at your friends, make increasingly obtuse puns (Yes, this is referring to you, Lance ), or whatever else you want to do, all for fun, and all for those all important points. This event will start tomorrow (January 4th!) so don't get caught dozing and stock up the snowballs before then! Rewards are simple! 5 points for signing up, 1 for winning a match, 3 for finishing 2nd and 5 for winning the whole thing.Signup
To sign up, just post in this thread with the following form. The quantity of sign ups will determine the type of bracket used![blockquote][font size="1"]Name:
House:How to Play
The rules we want to keep very simple: Sign up in this thread (see above!), and we will allocate everyone into a bracket. Either person in the bracket slot can start the thread, so please check before you create a new thread! In the individual fights, alongside your light-hearted messages (or competitive, as long as it's friendly) you will add two 1-4 dice, where a 1 is a direct hit with a snowball. Sounds painful, but you have to get hit three times to be eliminated. If wanted, a player can sacrifice a die to 'dodge' a snowball. In this case, you can not take damage from one of your opponent's dice. You better hope they don't roll two 1's…
TL;DR (understandably):
- either person can create thread.
- each post must have one or two dice rolls [*roll range="1-4"].
- 1's hit, 2-4 don't.
- a player can sacrifice a die to 'dodge' a single 1 from the opponent.
- three hits, you're out.
- winner advances to next round of bracketBracket
The signed up members will be randomised into a bracket, which can be found in this thread following signups.
If there are any questions with the tournament that aren't in this post, feel free to message me directly, or in the slack channel #snowball-fight-2021. If not, get on your mittens and warm up with your hot cocoa for a day in the snow.
