90th Tribute Interviews

Now that that stupid fucking parade was out of the way, along with training and all that bullshit, now I have to dress up in something that didn't include a fat cow costume. Today was something more formal. I had my hair slicked back in a way that reminds me of those supervillains that the library had in their old comic book section. It was a very small collection - most of the books had been burnt in a fire or stolen and never returned. Eyebrows plucked in a way that almost made an immediate 'v', a scowl. On the top of my head rests a black cowboy hat, which I guess this was this was of color contrast compared to the suit I was wearing.

Their theme for me this entire year seems to be a cow. Which, I guess makes sense. But come on. Do the research! If you're going to make me an animal, at least make me a horse. My entire home life surrounds those bitches! Make me an Appaloosa, like my grandparent. But nooooo, throw me into a brown suit with a cow-spot-patterned tie. But, I can't lie, the suit fits me well so I cannot complain. Just make me look more of a villain outside of the face. I already have the resting scowl, I didn't need much help crafting that look.

Caesar is back these Games, probably because he's immortal and will live/present for every single Quell that will be held in the duration of the Games. He's wearing a wig that reminds me of a fire. The dude, like the rest of the damn capitol, looks like a rainbow vomited on their wig supply and they just took whichever wig the colors mixed on the best. It was kind of gross. It made my eyes hurt more than the blinding lights of the stage.

It's my turn, how great. Like a cow on pasture, I took my damn time getting on that stage. This is my moment, not theirs.

I must say, your District made quite the splash at the Tribute Parade. Tell us what you were feeling up there! Confident, nervous, excited?
If you have a zoom in on my face - yep, that right there - that is pretty much how I felt. I don't know why a blow up cow costume was the first thing they thought of for a quell. One of the most stupidest shit I've seen in a Games in such a long time.
How confident do you feel about the games now that you've seen your Training Score?
Well, I don't think scores represent anything. What does a number have to do with me? The only one that matters is the number 1 when I leave the damn place.
What about the other tributes? Intimidating? Interesting? Irritating?
They don't scare me. Or interest me, or irritate me. They all fucked up enough to get thrown in here, so honestly? Not my problem, they clearly have already gotten something wrong to get picked to die. It's just my job to finish it.
What has impressed you most about the Capitol since you've been here?
How many damn shades of pink you people have.
Tell us what a typical day in your shoes is like back home. Do you work? Do you have any hobbies or secret talents?
Well, I live by myself at the ranch my family left me. With my horses and chickens. I was spending a little bit of time lately trying to build a chicken coop that the chickens can go into rather than risk being stomped to death like a mushroom at the feet of the horses in the barn.
And your family. Sensitive subject, I'm sure, but... could you tell us about them?
Well, they're dead. All I had when they were alive was my dad and then my grandparent, Appa. If you go back a few years - 87 or so, my grandparent was in a relationship with one of the tributes there. September Yorgos, or something like that. I'm named after him, yet, my family died because of him. It's kind of fucked up really.
How about the person who voluntold you? Do you want to say anything to them right now?
I didn't get voluntold by anyone else besides God. I was chosen for this. I got lucky here, because I don't have to worry about some sort of family dynasty blowing up in my face when I get home. I'd betcha that a ton of these bitches, given they win, will return to at least three dead family members. Can't be me if they're already dead.
I want to know: What is it that you'll be fighting for in that arena? What is it you want to get back home to?
I want to get revenge for what September could never do. My grandparent took his own life because September was too weak to get back home. I'm not that weak. If I come home, I come home to nothing. The horses maybe. I could open an equestrian thing. I don't know.
I'm afraid we're almost out of time. Parting words to the crowd? The tributes? Your friends and family back home?
I don't need any parting words if I'm coming back, no?
