Actually, that was a lie, they were well off and extremely carefree about everything.

Picking a name was never easy for his parents. An abundance of gem names to choose from, and each child needed something special and unique. His parents made sure to spoil them all, rotten.

Some did not pick up bad habits from it, but Diamond did. He was probably the most rotten out of his siblings. After all, he was the first, which meant that he knew that he was the best. There was no figured, or assumed, it just was. His parents handed him every opportunity. Career training? He got it. Private tutoring and one on one sessions? His parents made sure they gave that to him personally.

Even though they did take the career program seriously, they wanted to make sure that all of their children knew the roots that they came from as well. His fathers father had been a tailor, he made his fortune in unique designs, crafted from anything that could be found. Architecture met design met high fashion.

Diamond fell in love with the art of craft and construction. Everything though, had to have his own flair added to it. A white suit? New paint job. A simple hat? Extra decorative flair. Everything could be elevated in Diamond’s eyes.

He expected nothing less than perfection.
