working on the ranch did not bring him the same amount of joy that would probably bring any other person his age. to be quite frank, he always felt like it was more of a chore than most.

his parents just took everything a little too serious. even to this day, they wanted so much out of walker. they were getting older, and running a farm was starting to become just a little too stressful for them. they expected their kids to start taking the reigns as soon as they were no longer of reaping age.

walker, avoided as many tasks as he could, most of them trying to pawn them off on his younger siblings. he was the oldest, but that did not mean that he wanted to be on the farm forever. the opposite really. ever since he started hearing about kids from the district being able to attend events in the capitol all willy nilly, that was the type of life he wanted for himself.

he considered himself a stitch. funnier then anyone he knew. some people corroborated, and some people told him that he would never make it in show biz, however, that did not stop his dreams. he would be damned if he was going to be stuck on a farm, except when it came to the animals, he might be willing to spend a little extra time with them.

everything else though?

he could care less. burn it to the ground. let it get drowned by snow.

he laughed at that last one.
