you arent as effective in your blow, but you dont have too much doubt that you will not die here. they are villianous in their own right, but you are tougher. you look at the boy from six and simply smile. its wicked and twisted, and you are just filled with so much power.

and then you hear the girl from five spouting something that she thinks is prophetic.

you arent even willing to entertain her idea of whatever she was going on and on about. in fact, it seemed like it was rather condescending. were all district fives like this? you think about exactly what you are going to say, and then realize, you did not need to entertain her with anything more.

she was not going to change anything with her words. "really?" you stop for a second, moving your gaze to her she slices at you with her sword. "save the speeches for someone who actually gives a fuck." you are nasty in the heat of battle, your brothers would not recognize you right now. maybe it was because they had never tested you in the real thing. "those arent going to matter when you have a blade slashing through your skin or spear in your throat."

you notice that both will and thomas struck the boy from six, and you are falling behind because you are talking to some silly girl that is trying to be a poet. you look to the boy right next to her and figure xaa could use a little back up herself. "xaa has a point." you walk to the side before pulling up your spear.

you look at the boy from ten, you dont need to waste any more words here.

Will switches opponents with a guise of disgust printed clearly on her face. Was it getting all too real for her, could she not handle the blood? No, she was landing harsher strikes than I was and some cuts of hers went deeper than Luna’s. She was a fighter all right, but something set her off.

I made a mental note to talk to her later, we needed to all stick together if there was a chance of getting out of here alive. I could not afford a break in the pseudo family bond. They were the ones keeping my glass crown from shattering completely. If they did not believe in me, believe in each other then we were all doomed to be forgotten toys cast away in box on a dark shelf.

Was this really for the greater good of the alliance or was I becoming selfish? Could I just not stand the thought of Will seeing me for the monster I’ve been accused of being.

The blood streaming out of the wound was almost as satisfying as hearing the words ”Xaa has a point”, finally some praise around here in exchange for the insults Will was throwing my way. It was like music to my ears knowing someone still recognized my brilliance in this place. I sent the girl from two a sly smile and small flip of my hair, acknowledging her presence by my side. Maybe I was not entirely tossed from grace, just maybe there was still a lingering hint of the drug induced divinity I pretended to still possess.

Everyone of them was handpicked out of the pool of tributes for a reason, I do not make mistakes when it came to the people I surround myself with.
