tourniquet ring shopping / (roe)

The door squeaks. Roe is suddenly a kid in a candy shop. Dog with a bone. He takes the bomb first, obviously.

It's an inconspicuous little thing, weirdly heavy, but just the size of his fist. It looks more like a shot-put than anything, or a disturbingly ironic cannon ball, but it's the little neon attached DANGER EXPLOSIVE DANGER tag that really calls his name.

Light and throw!

Well, don't mind if he does.

It hits the bottom of his bag with a thud, knocking against the cooking oil.

Sure hope that won't have any lasting consequences.

He wanders a little further in, only keeping half an ear out. Serves the others right to miss out on this for the way they're acting.

There's a little metal case on a side table. Two latches, not even a lock. It's like they want him to open it.

No thought to traps; Roe flicks the thing open. Little vial inside, pale and cloudy behind the glass. There's a little pamphlet tucked inside and Roe briefly scans the List of Possible Side-Effects heading before he tosses it away - boring.

He takes the vial out of the case instead and holds it up to the light. There's a long needle stuck through the centre, wicked sharp and awful to look at. The cap on the tip is bright orange. The other side is blue.

An injection.
