Cadia saw the branch coming, but there wasn't anything she could do about it. It hit her left leg, the one she had landed on earlier, and she gasped as her knee twisted, turning instinctively so that she landed on her good leg. At least the attack hadn't been a complete waste; the knife she held was dripping with blood, and while she hadn't had the chance to twist it out like she usually did- the boy had jerked away, pulling the knife from his arm as he did so- he seemed to be in pain. He may not have temporarily lost use of the arm, as she had been hoping- the branch had knocked her aim off from the crucial point in his shoulder to his upper arm- but it would certainly be limited.
She took a moment to test her leg. The damage wasn't too bad; it hurt, and she was limping a little, but between the hit and her fall it could have been much worse. In fact- why not let the others think it was? She backed away, limping more than she had to, favoring her left leg far more than was needed.
The boy she had stabbed threw his weaon to the other, and Cadia once more hissed in frustration. Now the one with the knife was double-armed. Again. Then again, one of them was now unarmed and injured, a point in her favor. She focused on the armed one now, keeping one eye on the other in case he should happen to try anything.
Her eyes landed on the makeshift pike, and she smiled a little. She prefered pointy weapons, her knife being her favorite- but two could play that game. Still exagerating her limping, she backed away from both of them toward a tree, and sawed off a thin but sturdy limb. She remained with her back to the tree, her knife in her left hand- she was right-handed usually, but when it came to her knife she was as good as ambidextrious- and her new weapon in her right hand, moving it around to held get the feel of it. If one of them wanted to come after her, she'd be ready.
