~Jana~
Jana was terrified that kissing Dominic would have set him off, or frightened him. But instead he seemed to enjoy it, a look of true calm coming over him for the first time since she'd met him. It made a sense of warm and accomplishment wash through her, on top of the butterfly feeling in her stomach. And then he thanked her, his voice steady and not fearful for once.
It was taking Jana a moment to find her voice, what could she really say, words didn't really seem like enough for the situation at hand. The situation being completely out of the normal. A paranoid schizophrenic and a carpenter's tomboy daughter... Really a strange match up, but it didn't matter, not to her at least. She was sure her father would not take kindly to the idea at first. Jana being his only daughter, and his wife dead, despite raising her more as a son, he is still a bit overly protective of Jana.
"I... I don't know what's going on, I've never felt like this... But I like." She smiled, despite her jumbled thoughts.
Love was a word she avoided using since it was a strong word, and she feared having it back fire on her. But deep down she was pretty sure that that was what this was. Dominic pushed a piece of her fiery hair back behind her ear, the touch of his finger tips sent a feeling of warm all through out her, never in her life had Jana felt so much like, well... A girl. It was a foreign, but welcome feeling. Taking a rag from her leather bag, she gently wiped some of the blood from Dominic's face and back. It reminded her that he wasn't always going to be stable, but she'd do her best to help him stay as secure as possible.
"Are you feeling alright? You look a lot better now." She continued gently removing the crimson stains that covered the boy's skin. Luckily growing up the way she had Jana was used to blood and injuries, she had experience in healing after years of helping guys at the shop. Being a lumberjack was dangerous. There were countless time she'd had to help men who'd fallen from trees, or had a limb come crashing down on them. There was also the occasion saw related wound that always involved seas of red, sharp blades on tender human flesh never ended well. Skin cells were no match for the cold metal teeth of a saw. Looking back up at Dominic she took the moment to admire the look of security and calm in his eyes.
