In all awkwardness, Lily only laughed slightly, injecting nervous happiness in the air. Imaginary heaviness, crushing her heart into pitiful mush, was an uncanny force, a behemoth of power. She could feel the intensity in the chest and pressed a lightly clenched fist near where the internal engine was located. With rapid action, the blond tried to mask the deep breathing in silence. Smiling, she quickly pondered over the past events, the decisions she had agreed upon in the instance given. Any repercussions of the actions - though with guilt and anxiety - were mentally nodded to; she had allowed what had happened, so she told herself on the inside that anything that was thrown at her had to be taken with a puffed chest.
Hearing a whimper, breaking through the tension in the upper torso, hands relaxed only to go one over the other, space between the chest. Lily blinked with insecurity, though she tried to smile in gentleness. One hand extended hesitantly for a tanned arm; however, as it trembled violently, she withdrew it back, still plastering the apparently weak cheer on. With knit brows, she said, "Oh, it's okay, Devroux. I just meant that my papa was a - I suppose you can say - a wanderer too. He met Mama in District 5." Bigger smile along with relaxed brows. "Mama would tell me that he would come back soon from where he was. Then we three could be happy together."
Laughter. "I still have some hope for his return; however, it isn't as big as it was back when I was small. It's been so long..." Her teal eyes grew in visibility; and, a finger fighting against shaking went to shush Devroux's lips, though only figuratively. "If we want to remain positive about this, it might not come to be. If it does, then... um..." Shrug, then soft giggle. "If it happens, then the faster we have it done, no? Perhaps the hardship will teach us things."
An itching to stretch legs, the young lady stood - after retracting the finger - and extended arms behind, hands laced together. She crossed a foot over the other, keeping the upper limbs where they were. Seeing the sun starting to sink below the horizon, darkness would settle in soon, sending the world to a black lull where activity was statistically minimal - minus the negative actions usually held in early mornings or late nights. All the color would appear to have been omitted from the universe, leaving only the dark variants and bright light above for the remaining hours. Many would sleep, some would awaken. Lily turned back to Devroux. "Would it be best to return back?"
(If we're going back to the house, permission to drag her along. If not... permission to do whatever needs to be done? xD
Check this for ironic lols?)
