Mimi Malone
The morning breeze tickled the face of little Mimi as she skipped down a dirt road that led to the corn field. She inhaled the fresh morning scent of wet dew that rested on the grass. Mimi's skipping slowed to a stroll when she spotted the sign that read "CORN". Tall stalks rose above way above her head. Mimi would've tried to climb these green sky scrapers, but she was afraid of hurting the precious corn. The silver rusted watering can she held in her hands was heavy and full of water. Mimi walked along the rows of corn tilting the can so that water would pour out, quenching the corn plants.
As she did this, Mimi thought of the recent Hunger Games going on. She tried to hurry up and finish her chores in the field to go watch them again. The part she left off at was when the deaf girl from District 12, Ocean, had killed her partner. It was almost shocking, but anything can happen during the games. All alliances eventually turned against each other, for it was the joy of the Games. Well, at least Mimi thought it was, and Mimi is always right. Just three more years, Mimi thought to herself. When Mimi finished watering her corn, she turned to skip back to Town Square. However, she ended up tripping on a huge rock that, for whatever reason, Mimi didn't see. She fell to the ground with a thump. Her knee scraped against that putrid rock, and blood poured from the wound. Something didn't feel right in her little knee, like a joint was in the wrong place. Mimi let out an agonizing moan. She attempted to stand, but only fell back down again. Mimi glanced around and saw tons of people going about their business. She mentally examined her knee, deciding it was probably broken. Now the pain wasn't too bad, but she couldn't move anywhere. So Mimi just lay next to the tall green stalks of corn, looking up at the clear blue sky.
Then after staring at the bright sky for almost a half an hour, a figure looks over at Mimi. Her eyes didn't even have time to adjust when the figure said,"Whoa! Are you ok?!?" She open my mouth to respond, then close it again. Mimi felt drained, like all the energy in herself left. Mimi lifted her head as much as she could, just to see that her knee was a bloody mess. "Ah, hell." Mimi mumbled
