It was a bigger explosion then i thought it would be. I tried to keep Kellan on the ground but she got out. Just as she got to her knees tthe door exploded. The force caused me to slam into a wall. I saw stars. It hurt, alot more then the cut on my leg. Suddenly I'm awarer of something in the back of my arm. I trun my arm around and find a small piece of the door frame there. I pull it out but it still stings. I then trun my attention to whats happening. Doctors are rushing everwhere, people are screaming. Just because i came in here. I put my head down in shame. Back luck follows me everywhere i go. I rarely get a break. I stare at the floor for a while before looking up. I look around some more, theres nothing that could have given me away, so someone had to....... Something cacthes my eye. A small half dome on the celling. A small red ring in it. At first I'm confused but then relize what it is.

A sercurity camrea. Thats how they found me, now it's my fault that all these people are going to die. Soon, peacekeepers will come here,find me, and take me to district 2. It's kinda dark here, but the fires are keeping it light up well. Then Kellan rushed back in with a red emergency kit. She then pins me agaisnt the wall. I don't even try to fight it. She then screams at me saying"What did you do? You are going to cause so many deaths!What were you thinking?" I look up at her, thinking about what to say. I debate breifly then fix my eyes on the sercurity camrea. Hopefully she'll look over there. I don't wait. Then i fix my eyes on a small piece of the sigh that was hanging on the door a moment before. The smal piece said, DEMONLITION. I screahed for another piece and found it. It said "CRIMAL". This should be enough. I then tru my glaze back to her. I then whisper "I'm sorry", Before retruning my glaze to the floor.

I follow his eyes as he glances around the rubble, and a sickening feeling begins to rise in my stomach. Anger, pity, fear and sadness well up inside me and I begin to have trouble breathing.
"I'm sorry," he whispers and I break, a sob tears from my throat joining the others and I fall forwards onto the ground into a kneeling position, releasing my grip on Mylies. The aches in my body and head become more prominent and I become aware of a stabbing pain in my shoulder. I reach back, feel the cold surface of a piece of the cot and tear it out, warm sticky blood replacing it. More blood is leaking from a scratch on my head and is blocking some of my eyesight. I sit there on the floor for a moment, before I drag Mylies down to my level and use his shoulder as a headrest.
"Okay, we'll find you somewhere to go, to lay low for a bit....untill you can leave, and then you must leave and not come back." I say between sobs, trying to wipe my eyes, I lurch to my feet and beckon for Mylies to follow me.

She uses my shoulder as a headrest and says "Okay, we'll find you somewhere to go, to lay low for a bit....untill you can leave, and then you must leave and not come back." She then gets up and beckons me to follow her. I quickly get to my feet and say, "Your going to put yourself in more danger than you already are. It would be safer if i just went by myself." My face a stone mask.

I look outside and a see a small armry of peacekeepers waiting outside. I trun back to Kellan. There wouldn't happen to be a back door would there? I look outside and see a few more peacekeepers with tazer and stun guns. One trun their head and meet my glaze. I quickly go back to where he can't see me. I look around the hospital to make sure theres nothing they could use to kill me or others.

The peacekeepers have surrounded the hospital, waiting for Mylies. Fear nestles in my stomach. I realize this is what those poor people in the games must feel like every year, surrounded by your doom. After a moment I see something that gives me hope, and an idea.
"C'mon, follow my lead." I tell him, dragging him over to the stairs. We walk up four floors, the smoke getting worse and worse as we rise. By the time I throw open the roof door and we get into mostly clear air, I am retching. I kneel on the ground for a moment trying to regain my breath. It takes me about five minutes to be able to stand and I'm sure Mylies is no better. I slowly get to my feet and stumble over to the edge of the roof, like I suspected there is only one peacekeeper inspecting the other building. I turn back to Mylies as I begin to take of my doctors jacket.
"Okay, we will jump the gap, it's only about four feet, don't look down and then we can go out the doors of that building." I tell him, backing up to take a running leap.

Kellan leads me to the roof. Each floor we get to he somke gets worse and worse. Finally when i think i can't take it any more we burst onto the roof. I collaspe on my knees breath the fresh air. I stay there for sevral minutes before Kellan starts talking. She's alreay up and taking off her winter doctor which has been painted balck by the smoke. "Okay, we will jump the gap, it's only about four feet, don't look down and then we can go out the doors of that building." She then backs off and leaps across the gap between the building. A simile plays across my lips. This is the one think I live for. I quickly calculate the distance and about how far I'll need to be to make it. I know how far i usually need to be but my injured leg might pose a bit of a problem.I then look at the oppsite roof and move myself to the place with the most space. I stand back and place my good leg back, lean backward and push off it. I gain speed intill he wind whips across my face, then when i reach the end of the roof i wait till the last second to jump my foot barely on the ledge.

I make the jump but am going to fast i try to slow down but the only way of doing that is falling or going across to the next rooftop then comeing back. I try to decide but then crash into a pole. The pole vibrateds and i fall on my butt seeing doubles. I then slowly get on my feet jubbing my head where i hit the pole. A slight headache that will last for a few minutes is all that remians. 'Well then, lets keep going with your plan." I tell Kellan. Then i add"Next time you do that please chose a roof without a pole."

Mylies smashes into a pole and I have to stifle a laugh. I run forwards and leap gracefully over the gap, running in a circle on the other side to slow my momentum.

"Well then, lets keep going with your plan." Mylies tells me, "Next time you do that please chose a roof without a pole." I chuckle, still buzzed from the adrenaline rush. I grab Mylies, confirm that he has no injuries and then lead him through the roof door on this building. It's a research facility of some kind, with white curtained rooms and heavily locked doors. We walk down four floors and come to the front door, it wide and white with a thin window near the top. I peek through it, no peacekeepers.
"Alright, we'll head to my house and go from there." We leave the room and head down the street at a brisk walk. We have almost walked a block when flashlight beams and voices start to round the corner. I glance around, there is absolutely nowhere to hide, and if Mylies gets caught I will surely be shot as well. I turn to him, panic setting in.
"What do we do?" My voice rises about four octaves as I speak and I grab his arm to steady myself.

We get to the steert and go at a nice pace. We're halfway down the steert before we run into trouble. Peacekeeper's flashlight beams come around the corner. Kellans voice rose so loud I had to cover my ears with my hands. She said "what do we do?" "First off, we quiet down a bit ok? Next we hide in that alley. " I say pointing to a alley off to the side. I drag her with me into it. I really don't have to grab her because her arm is so tight I think my arm is going to fall off. I duck behind a dumpster just as the peacekeepers pass. I hold my breath as they pass by. I think I heard someone say. " one of the nurses is missing. Screwy every where. " I look over to Kellan to see how she's handling this.

Fear seems to be a rodent that runs across the dirty ground, with the sound of the peacekeepers voice and then leaps onto my leg and scurries up my leg, across my chest onto my face and then down my throat, tearing apart my insides. I begin to vibrate slightly as the lights swing in our direction and grow brighter.
"Hey Phil, I think someone is over here." A voice calls from extremely close by. I manage to hold back the slight scream that tries to rise in my chest. I force myself to calm down in what little time I have and then get an idea, it's risky but it just might work.
"Play along," I hiss at Mylies, then I place my hands on the sides of his face and kiss him making sure my hair and the remainder of my arms are covering his features. I pull us back against the wall into a more natural position just as the peacekeeper rounds the corner. His beam falls across us, but I do not waver my lips still glued to his
"Hey, you kids better run along now, or you'll get a right good beatin'" He says and I jump slightly feigning surprise. I hide Mylies face with my shoulder and hair and giggle.
"Whoops sorry officer. C'mon Kyle lets get outta here." I say mustering up all the energy, flirtation, and girlishness I possibly can. The peacekeeper snickers and I gently shove Mylies in front of me, he seems to be glued to the ground.
"Go" I whisper. We leave the alley and take off running, flying through the streets towards my house. When there we race up the steps and I fumble with the doorknob. Inside I slam the door and fall into it, sliding into a sitting positon with my forehead against the cool wood.

Just as the peacekeepers begin to pass one of them notice us. The only way out that I can think of is attacking them, but Kellan has a different idea. She hiss"Play along" before putting her hands on my checks and kisses me. I have no idea if I should enjoy it or something else. All I do know is that my biran locked down with my body. I'm barely aware that Kellans talking to the peacekeeper before she says"Whoops sorry officer. C'mon Kyle lets get outta here." At first I'm wondering who's Kyle and stay glued to the ground. Then she whispers "Go" and I understand what she meant. I then follow her along the streets before getting to hers. She fumbles with the lock before the door opens. Once inside she slams the door closed and leans on it, sliding to the ground. "Well that was...." I try to think of a word to describe her plan. "an interesting plan. But next time I'll attack them. Ok?"

I grimace slightly, and pull myself into a full standing position.
"I would prefer to keep my slate clean thank you very much. I don't really fancy hurting people." I say, biting my lip slightly. I push off the door and stand on my own, wobbling slightly. I brush past Mylies flicking lights on as I make my way into the kitchen. My father isn't home, as per usual. I gesture spastically at the kitchen chair and turn to the cupboards.
"Hungry?" I ask, and begin taking out bread, not really waiting for an answer. I fix myself a jam sandwich and dig in as I make Mylies' dropping the plate in front of him with a clatter. I sit across from him at the table and raise an eyebrow slightly.
"So...why are you such a threat, target, prize, or whatever you are?" I ask through a mouthful of food. I am ravenous and really have no care to take measures for politeness.

She grimced slightly and stands up. "I would prefer to keep my slate clean thank you very much. I don't really fancy hurting people." Then she starts walking to her kitchen turning on lights as she goes. 'Hungry?She ask. I didn't relize how hungry I was untill now.She starts pulling out some bread and other things.

She makes herself a sandwhich and then makes me one. She dropes my infortn of me and i start digging in as fast as i can. Within a minutes I'm done stareing at an empty plate. Kellan then asks"So...why are you such a threat, target, prize, or whatever you are?" I think about it minute, "Well, I'm a threat and a criminal too, so yeah. Here's the reason. One I hunt. Two I know how to break into peacekeeper strong holds, three, I have killed or seriously injured who know how many peacekeepers."

'Should I go on? Or is that enough for you to understand?" I wonder if she'll be surprised by this or if she won't be surprised at all.If she wants to go on I start putting list of things I've done in the different districts. A long list begins to grow in my head.

I stare at him for a moment, finishing my sandwich. Part of me, the part still plagued by thoughts of my mother, wants to know what he has done wants to hear every detail of the justice he has brought to the peacekeepers, but the other part of me, the doctor in me just want's to heal him and get him back out on the street, away from me and my life. I know which part of me is going to win before it does, but the struggle manages to keep me a good person.
"Who have you killed?" I ask my voice quieter than before, out the kitchen window you can still see the smoke rising from the hospital and I wonder vaguely if the peacekeepers will put out the blaze or just let it burn into the dirt. The thoughts of the flames make my chest hurt and I stumble to the sink and get myself a glass of water before I suffocate.

When she asks who i killed i have to strain to hear. She then looks out the kicthen window before stumbleing to the sink and gets some water. I think about her question a minute before saying "Well, I've killed at least ten peacekeepers and one other person....." I trail off as I remeber the acciendtal shot that ended his life.

I tryed to get rid of that memory hundreds of times before but it never, ever, works. 'So, do you own this house or do you live with someone?" Chances are she lives with her parents but still I'm cursises.

I chuckle slightly as he talks, from the way his voice trails off and ends in a thud of remorse, I would guess the 'other' death was accidental. I know more than my fair share about that kind of thing, and I know his guilt must be a weight on his chest every day. I smile at him sadly and begin to prepare some tea.
"No, I live with my father, but he isn't here much..." I say the end of my sentence dropping into a sigh. I shrug gently as the water squeals at me. The tea isn't strong, just warm with a light chamomile flavor. I add generous amounts of honey to each mug and hand one to Mylies.
"It'll help with the damage from the smoke." I say, taking a short sip from mine. As I knew it would, the honey and heat soothe the raw sides of my throat. A small moan escapes my lips as the tea calms my nerves and makes me warmer. Ironic that I should be cold after escaping a fire, but until I had drunk some of the tea I was practically shivering.

She chuckles as I talk and then makes tea. "It'll help with the smoke damage. " I eye it wearily before sipping some. I hadn't had tea for years, and it was delicious. Not only that but it did help south my throat. I'm soon finished with the cup. "Well, chances are your dad nots half as bad as I've seen before. Long as he doesn't whip you and stuff, consider yourself lucky. " I lean back relaxed. I pause for a moment before saying"How'd you end up working in a hospital?"
