Basil was doing a bit better. Not a complete turnaround, mind you, but his breathing sounded better, he was less fatigued and was actually beginning to complain about being cooped up in bed and that was a good sign, that he had the energy to complain, and everyone was hopeful that, maybe, the cold wouldn't develop into pneumonia after all.

This was a good thing. Poppy's lungs couldn't handle pneumonia, if she contracted something like that, she'd be dead inside a week. But she didn't particularly want to think about that.

All that aside, the family was doing better. And that meant, this time, Poppy had felt little guilt at leaving her young sister at home while she did the market run--it went faster, and more smoothly, without the toddler in tow, no matter how much she loved Laurel's company.

Her bag was nearly empty, she'd traded away all of the rabbits and had bread and a small bag full of herbs in return, and the lack of weight had her disoriented, briefly, when she spun to head out, slinging it over her shoulder. She stumbled, expecting it to be heavier, and nearly tumbled head-first into the boy who'd just stepped inside, dripping wet.

"Oh!" Her face went crimson, the flush hot and red. She tried to straighten, and stammered out, "I am--so sorry, I'm such a klutz, are you alright?"

She was still varying shades of pink, and another apology was right there on the tip of her tongue, but she held it back and just outstretched a small hand to take the basil back from him, smile surprisingly shy and sweet. "Look at that, not only do I plow right into you, but I cover you with weeds, too."

She carefully replaced them inside her bag and bit her lip, offered him another quick, tentative smile. "This doesn't seem to be your day," she noted; on top of nearly getting run over, he was soaking wet, and she felt guilty for just adding to his bad luck. "It's really downpouring out there, huh?"

Ariana had been in the market for hours. She hadn't bought anything, she was waiting on a friend. That's when she saw him. He was standing in the opposite direction from her, talking to another girl. She ran over grabbed his shoulder and spun him around. "where have y-" she stops talking when she realizes this is NOT her friend. She stands there for several akward moments, jaw dropped before she speaks. "I'm...sorry!"She squeaks as she wipes the water she got on her hand from his shirt on her sleeve.

His obvious negative reaction usually would have been enough to make Ariana coware and run away, but she took a deep breathe and began to speak. "I thought you were a friend of mine....you look like him from behind." Then, out of nowhere, she gets a sudden burst of confidence. "My name is Ariana."

Okay, this guy was seriously handsome! Regardless of the fact that he was soaked, from head to toe, she could see that he was a heart-breaker. Of course she wouldn't tell HIM this in a million years. "It's really pouring down out there huh?" Weather? That's the best she could come up with? Ugh!

Ariana feels a few splatters of water hit her face and arms when he patts his head, but has the decency not to wipe them away. "Nineth, how about you?" Although she tries not to, Ariana keeps staring into his deep eyes. What is happening? Why does she feel this tickleing sensation in the pit of her stomach?

Wren? Did she know a Wren? "No, I usually keep to myself. This is REALLY unusual for me. I feel...different, around you." WAIT! did I really just say that?? Ariana thought. It was too soon! I'm so bad at this! She blushes a deep, unattractive shade of red.
