Day at the beach-open to all

Mabel actually leaned her head back a little for he suddenly just began spilling everything to her about his life. When he had finished she nodded her head a little bit and then said,"Okay." Then when he told her to tell him about herself. Mabel sighed a little bit and then took a breath before saying to him,"Well...My father is a fisherman, obviously, and he taught me everything I know...I aspire to be just like him if not better..."

When the thought of her mother crossed her mind she actually had hesitated a little but then looked at the floor saying,"My mother...." She almost couldn't but then lifted her head saying confidently,"My mother was one of the BEST healers in District 4...And when she was working on a particular outbreak of the flu....She had contracted a deadly strain..Her death, unlike most of her patients, was long and drawn out. Everyone in my family used all of our resources we had, but..but it wasn't enough to save her. In the end it only prolonged her suffering and left us scarred..." She could feel the tears forming in her eyes but she fluttered her eyelashes repeatedly and would not let Jay see her cry.

"After my mother had died..My older sister Rhynn had to take on our mother's role at 13 and had to raise me and my younger sister Rosaline who was only 4 at the time...And my father wasn't around much because he had to work long hours to try and keep a roof over our heads..But I've decided that I'm going to be the ones to do that...That's why...If my name ever gets called at the next Reaping..I intend to win and get that money for my family..."

Mabel slowly crossed her arms as he repeated once again if she would go out with him. She takes a moment to really think about it. Mabel then couldn't help but think to herself if it would be interesting to go on a first date, or would it be worth it to see everything go wrong. It somewhat had sparked her interest. Mabel then looked at him with her arms still crossed and then asked slowly,"Now..I'm not completely saying okay...BUT IF I did say yes...Where would you take me..." She tilted her head and raised an eyebrow as she waited for him.

Mabel nods her head a little bit after he gives her some options. Since she was only 14, Mabel wasn't entirely sure what exactly romance was like. She had only had a slight idea what it was like from seeing the way her father used to always bring my mother special gifts and when he used to dance around the kitchen with her when they thought that Mabel, Rhynn and Rosaline were sleeping, well they were wrong. She used to be mesmerized by it, but those thoughts rarely came across her mind after her mother had died.

Mabel then realized that Jay had actually uncrossed her arms, and what had shocked her the most was that he was the second person in her life to ever do that to her. The first had been her mother whenever Mabel was angry about something, I guess habits never change. She then took a breath before saying slowly,"...Okay..."

After she had agreed to go out with him Mabel had a slight thought for a moment that she might regret this decision. And she could see all over his face that he wanted to do more than just say Thank you' it read more like he wanted to act like a little kid instead. When he lets go of one of her hands and begins leading her to a nearby restaurant she stares at their hands for a while as they're walking.

Mabel had to admit that it wasn't completely terrible. When he had put his arm around her was when she felt a little uncomfortable. Mabel stayed silent as they walked along the beach. She then heard him say that she was apparently the best thing that has ever happened to him. Unsure of what to say to that she instead replied with,"Okay....But just know, just because you took me out on this date, don't you think for one second that I forgot how you cost me a good fishing day Jay Taylor..."
