Aryn watched as the boy sort of struggled around on the floor of the boat. He sort of looked like a fish like that. Except, obviously, he couldn't even swim so he was no fish of any sort.

'What child in District 4 can't swim?' she thought to herself.

Aryn was basically lost as a child and yet she knew how ... It was odd meeting someone who couldn't. Especially this boy, looking so fit and all. It should be easy for him. Like a sixth sense. But as she looked back to the boy coughing up water near the girl who had just saved his life she shook her head. Maybe he just couldn't swim. Maybe he was just one of those pretty boys that run around District 4. Who knew?

Aryn was snapped from her thoughts as the boy managed to speak. He was also attempting to stand. He meekly introduced himself as Jay Taylor. But that was all he could managed before he fell to the floor.

Wow.

Again, Aryn's attention was pushed back to the present when the girl grabbed her clothes and was putting them back on. As soon as the girl was sliding her shirt over her head, Aryn stepped back out of the boat. This girl was a bit territorial over it. But she did have her reasons ... It was her property and Jay had pretty much ruined a lot of it.

Aryn then turned back to face the girl. She was muttering something to herself. Probably a complaint about the passed out Jay in her boat. Then she turned back toward her and asked,

"Any ideas?"

Aryn was a little stunned by her question at first, but she regained a little focus quick enough. Aryn shrugged a little. She really had no idea what to say or do for that matter. She wasn't usually the one out saving people. She could barely save herself anymore. Besides, there could be a lot of things wrong with this Jay character. Maybe, he just needed to rest, or maybe he needed CPR or maybe he was overheated, or maybe ... maybe he was just pretending or something. Once more, who knew?

"Maybe he needs a doctor?" Aryn suggested tentatively, avoiding this girls piercing gaze. It truly wasn't everyday that Aryn suggested things. She wasn't even sure if the suggestion was the right choice ...

Aryn had pretty much watched the whole time. It was alot of weird events all in one. Basically, she had summed together that the two were in love. But, only in a matter of minutes? Impossible.

She was pretty much ready to walk away because there really wasn't much left for her to do. Jay wasn't dying and Mabel was, well, getting kissed and asked out so she must be okay. Aryn's day wasn't going as she had thought it would. She had planned to surf or go help her father or sell some more seafood around town or ... something that didn't include following these two around all day.

She began to back away. Then turned and walked down the beach without a single word of goodbye. Watching what everyone called 'love' happening before her eyes was a bit annoying. Love wasn't real. She thought maybe even love was a fantasy parents told their children so they would go to bed at night. She was pretty sure that love didn't exist in the drugs her father pulsed through her or in his fist or in the bruises on hr mother's dead body.

She walked in the wet sand. It made an almost squelching noise beneath her feet. She watched as with every step her toes were hugged by the sand. Maybe love did exist, not in any one person or in all of the people of Panem but in the Earth; in the ground, in the sea, in the trees, in the sky. It must be there somewhere. But where?
