Meandering in the Woods *Open to All*

It was time.

"Keep to the trees." Joseph yelled. There was no point in whispering. Joseph leaped across from branches and thought to himself "If this is it? It could be it. I might die now. Should have just left." Joseph checked his boot. His knife wasn't there. Joseph forgot his knife. No the boy had it. And then peacekeepers. Oh lord the peace keepers. It was over now wasn't it.

An ugly pop gives away that I accidentally just popped the guys shoulder back in the socket. It gives me the creeps for a second but I'm too preoccupied to save his butt to care.
He suggests for us to split up which is not a bad idea. I gives us a better fighting chance. "We should actually spread out in all kinds of directions." I shout.
Then I give him a slap on the back and yell. "Lead them back."
He's right. I'm so clumsy in the woods and my foot feels like it's going to explode which makes it all that much harder to run.
Then again I don't fancy climbing any more. I'm not as squirrel like as what was his name...the kid that attacked us first?

With the peace keepers only about 20 meters away from us I decide to sprint in the opposite direction as fast a I can completely ignoring my throbbing foot. I can care about that later.
My shoulder hits a low branch that brakes off and gives me a better vision of the right part of the woods. Is that somebody else running over there? I see reddish brown hair flying...probably that girl, who was in the tree with me. For a moment I head in her direction because I can't see the squirrel anywhere. While I keep dashing and stumbling in between trees I keep looking up whether I can spot him anywhere and almost crash face first into a stem. The woods truly ain't my playground. At least I can't hear the peace keepers anymore.

Just when I reach some of the men and aim my gun they split up and I quickly have to decide who to go after. My gutt tells me to go after the one who's heading back towards the town. At least that would get me out of these dreadful trees.
My training has paid off as I quickly close the distance between us and soon spot that he's heading towards some more people. When I'm only a few meters away I yell. "Peace keeper, stop immediately or I'll shoot you!"
My hand tightens around the butt of my gun and while I'm still chasing him I thumb the safety off and make a plan where to shoot him...leg probably.

For a moment I stand with my hands on my thighs to catch my breath. I turn to see whether anybody is following me when suddenly I spot him, that guy, who stabbed me in the foot again.
With an angry scowl I close the distance between us, reach up and haul him out of his tree. With a thud he lands on the floor obviously surprise to come eye to eye with me.
Standing above him I hiss. "Listen, we've let you live so show me the way out of this freaking maze of trees...away from those peace keepers."
Just when I speak the name one of them shows up out of nowhere and attacks us using his whip as a weapon.
I'm quick enough to evade the blow but my victim on the ground isn't so lucky and I can see the whip tear open his clothes and leave a bloody streak.
My hand tightens around a large stick which I raise in order to defend myself.

While I'm trying to keep up with this strange fellow he's threatening me again.
I simply mutter. "Don't get your panties in a knot."
Our head start is pretty small and I hear the crack of a whip. At least the girl with the nice long reddish brown hair is a little further over. She seems to want to keep close to us.
Obviously the peace keeper is trying to hold us back that way even though there's really no need to hold me back. I'm slow enough by myself.
I try to follow the light footed fellow but at the sound of the next crack i can feel sharp pain on my lower back. The bloody whip has hit me. I well aware that I don't stand a chance trying to outrun the peace keeper but I know how to use my fists.
So I stop and turn around gazing into his sour, exhausted face. He hauls off and sends the leather towards me again. It actually takes me some gutts to reach out my hand so it gets slung around it and hold onto it. Pulling on the whip I get the man to come stumble towards me. As soon as he's within an arms length I ball my left fist and his him square in the nose.
Stepping forward I used my wrapped up arm to twirl the whip around his neck and pull on it.
His foot connects with my knee, which almost makes me fall over but I manage to smash my left fist in his temple before I stumble.

Maysliee slides on the ground hiding behind a tree kneeling on her knees taking deep slow breaths.Tilting her head to the side she listens to the voices smirking slightly leaning against the tree suporting her. Mutters softly under her breath..
"sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me."
Snickering she stood still contuing to listen....

Joseph stopped. They had believed him, why not help them. He reached for a thick branch, and ran forward towards the peacekeeper. As he got closer he broke into a sprint. He raised the branch and swung, barely missing the boys head, clocking the peacekeeper in the temple. The peacekeepers head gushed, and his eyes flowed of all colors until the became pale. Jospeh sat there, shocked.

"If we get out of this I want my knife back." Joseph said as he drug the branch behind him, heading off.

"Actually just give it to me when the next peacekeeper presents them self." Joseph demanded as he kept walking.
