She was finally calm. Her tears had finally stopped pouring from her eyes. That's all Austin wanted to do, now they could talk. He could finally see what was wrong with her, like he wanted. As she grabbed his hand for reassurance, he could feel how cold she was. (and despite the harsh rubbing of her hands, dry blood was stained on the skin of her palms and knuckles.)
Matching a smile on her own face and collecting her breath, she followed up with a question. “Why did you help me?” In all honesty, his first thought was to help the victim in the scenario. (he know realized they were both victims. Just of different things.) Taking in a deep breath, Austin got ready to reply. His answer was simple, but regardless, he had to answer. "It's what I do", he said, momentarily pausing to think carefully about his next few words. "I wanted to help that girl at first, honestly. But I could seethe pain in your eyes. I knew you needed it." He could feel her trailing off again, her sight wandering off of him, before they quickly found her way back, with more questions. "Why would you help a girl like me? A girl who’s a wreck and is basically crazy.”
He knew what she said before wasn't just a bluff anymore. (she actually thought she was a monster, inhumane.) She grabbed his hand once more, finding it's warmth move to her own. "Don't say 'a girl like me', alright? You're just like any other girl, you're no different a human being then they are. And you're not a wreck; you lost your temper, it happens to everyone alright?" She would notice the absence of heat of her cheek as Austin removes his hand, and moves to sit next to her. (rather than in front of her.)
Now more comfortably seated with something holding up his back, he let out a sigh of relief, before exhaling a large breath. Wanting to bring in her closer, (it seemed like she enjoyed having the touch of someone else to reassure her not being alone.) [/colour] he would slip his right arm over her shoulders, and his left hand to hers. "You're not a monster alright? You are aama-zing." There wasn't anything special about where they were. Darkness dwelled all over them, the nearest lamp post around the corner. (it seemed like they were in what appeared to be an ally, but clean.) he just stared out in front of him, thinking of what to do next. He had no idea. "Do you want me to bring you home? Or do you just want to stay here?"
