When Luke got home, he brought enough fish for two days. His mother thanked him, and he just nodded and went up his creaky stairs to his room. He passed out on the bed still smelling like fish.
It was dinner time when he finally got up. He had been sleeping for 3 hours, and the smell of fish cooking woke him. That, and his three year old brother was starring him straight in the face, and poking his ribs.
"Ah!" His eyes fluttered open to see his brother's face. He almost fell off the bed in surprise.
His little brother giggled, and then ran away. Luke sighed, and got out of bed. He stumbled out of his doorway, and toward the smell of food. He finally made his way to the table, and sat down. His mother was already setting plates of food down, and as soon as a plate landing in front of him, Luke began eating. The only food he had had all day was cerial for breakfast, and then a roll at lunch. His father was late getting home, once again. When Luke was done devourering his dinner, he said he didn't feel good and took a shower, then went to bed. He woke up again to the sound of the wind blowing to his window. It was 10. He heard no noises in the house except for slow breathing, so he got out of bed, and put a nice shirt on and some jeans. As he walked down the stairs he buttoned up his shirt, and noticed a vase of flowers siting on the dinning room table. He grabbed one, and put on his coat. He closed the door quietly as he left, and then hurried down the street to the beach. The snow was heavy, and had been falling throughout the night. He had to step carefully, until he finally got down the slope and to the beach. He searched, but Alana hadn't arrived yet.
Hm.. What should I do now?
He decided to spend his time wisely, and built a snowman. He found some rocks to make a smiley face, nose and eyes. He tore the sticks off a dead tree, and made the snow man have arms. Luke smiled as he got an idea. He put the rose, which was almost frozen, in the snowman's "hand". Luke sighed as he realized his snowman was too far away for her to see if she just came down. He sighed. His fingers were cold, so he put them in his pockets.
Luke touched something in his jacket. Carefully he pulled it out, to find it was a box of matched. He got an idea. He gathered some of the driest wood he could find, and cleared a spot for it to go. He set it up in a triangular position, and tried to make the wood burn. It took 3 matches, but a yellow glow soon came from the sticks, and he smiled in triumph. He looked up, and it looked as if it could be 11:45. He'd better go look for Alana. He went over, and found her sitting on their rock.
"Alana!" He called. "Over here!" Luke smiled at the sight of her beuatiful eyes.
