I can't help but chuckle. I have a lot of stories to tell, and I swear, if I ever get some mechanism that allows me to speak, I'll tell him all of them; the good, the bad, and the ugly. We'd be sitting for hours. You know what, maybe someday I'll write a book: The Tale of an Avox, or something. It'd be interesting, but my sense of wanderlust won't let me stay in one area for too long. Staying in the DC for as long as I did was quite painful mentally.
Oh, if only I could write faster in the dirt. On paper I can write fairly quick, but the letters get all sloppy. Eh well. I nod in acknowledgment to him taking the first shift. I really could use some sleep to ward off the faint, lingering headache from my hangover.
My family? Oh, how could I tell him about them? Hm. I thought for a moment before erasing the names in the dirt. I then put my parents' names, side by side, and drew lines down and added my name and my brothers' names, like a family tree. I glance up at Jack before looking back at the dirt, writing Lily's name beside mine on the end, and after connecting our names together with a line, I drew one down from that to make a T shape, and at the bottom I put Colton's name. Over Lily's name I also put a "D5" to let him know that she's from that District. But as to where she is now, I don't know. That's what kills me. She went missing after I saw her with Luk, and since she's gone, Colton's gone, too. Damn, he's probably about a year old or so now. I miss them both terribly. Huh, now that I think about it, my parents don't even know they have a grand kid. Well, they'd find out sooner or later, once I can find all of them.
When he asks if I had a girlfriend somewhere, I used the stick to poke the dirt just under Lily's name. Well, she wasn't really my girlfriend... I don't think we ever made it to that stage in our relationship. We had met when I literally fell across her path and she took me in, I stayed with her that day and then I went to show her my temporary camp outside the District, let my hormones take over and did the dirty deed - but not forcibly - and then was captured by the Peacekeepers later that night.
Jack's very lucky that this is the first time he's ever left someone behind. I can tell him from experience that it's one of the worst feelings in the world. It leaves a gaping hole inside of you that you can't ever fill, even if you find something wonderful. There's still that emptiness. Oh - what about Tallulah? Does she know that Jack's gone off?Does Tallulah know you're gone?
And yeah, I can't imagine her father would like their relationship. Kind of like a forbidden love, almost; he's a rebel, she's the Mayor's daughter, so I can see where he'd have a fit with it.
((Pfft, when Dev gets going on Colton & Lily, he just keeps going. xD That's all he talks - er, writes xD - about.))
