Character Name: Kane Lightwood
Age: 17
Face Claim: here hurr hear
Background: Kale grew up in a family that had a knack for the absurd. With a weird clock collection that spread across walls, and a telescope pointing from every single battered window, Kale grew a knack for weird habits. Being a fairly artistic family, Kale got a knack for acting and being over the top from his two very dramatic parents. They were neither rich nor poor and sat fairly well in life. There wasn't ever a lack of food, or a death. His father died of a sudden cardiac arrest, it was out of absolutely nowhere leaving him and his mother in complete shock. Three months later, not able to live anymore without her husband, Kale's mother committed suicide by hanging herself in the room filled with clocks. Time didn't stop. Kale tried to stay in his house, but the lack of guardians and the constant ticking reminding him of his inevitable doom drove him nearly insane. He's then adopted by the wonderful Lightwood's and ya.
Personality: Ridiculously outgoing. Kane lives by the belief that at any moment, should the silence stop, should the happy air in the room die, he'll slowly sink into a heavy depression. In complete and utter denial over the deaths of his parents, Kane has a very selective memory, one would say. Choosing to ignore the pessimistic, Kane strives towards goals that are unreachable an unrealistic. Obsessed with the stars and their god-like qualities, Kane spends each night confessing his feelings and doubts to the night sky. With a passion for creating, and acting, you can often find Kane speaking soft words in his room staging his own one man shows.
Plot Ideas: The Lightwood family is very introverted and very traumatized. With various situations that have affected each of them in different ways, Kane would be a sort of light, I guess, to the family. I don't think he'd fit in at first, if at all, trauma is what bonds the Lightwood family and here comes a big ray of sunshine trying to make everything better, and I doubt that would go over too well. Also Phena/Kane? hmm? He's probably be a little overbearing, especially to like Keela who has selective mutism if I remember properly. I just feel like it'd be an interesting dynamic to pop into the family.
