[/I]The Nox family is well-known for being one of the wealthiest, most prestigious families in District 3; and the primary owner of this wealth - Magnus Nox - is infamous for being the most ruthless, manipulative, unsympathetic bastard in the upper class. It was sheer fortune for the man to be blessed with such a compassionate wife who could soothe his malice. When their precious daughter was born, the couple was at the top of their game enjoying the finest luxuries their money could buy. However, when a mysterious, undiagnosed illness struck the wife into her grave, the malevolence in Magnus returned with a burning lust for power and revenge. He decided to humor himself by inflicting suffering upon the pathetic, low-lives of District 3’s poor.
Thus, the “Rags to Riches” contract was born. The set up was simple and easy to comprehend: those who signed the contract owed Magnus a total of $50,000. $2,000 is expected to be paid by midnight of the last day of each month. Once the final debt is paid, the client shall be rewarded one million dollars and the chance to start their miserable lives over again. During the process, clients will be given a bedroom on the bottom floor of his mansion to sleep in and free meals to eat. Tabs will be kept on their dues, and if clients fail to meet the $2,000 payment deadline the amount owed will be doubled and subtracted from their balance - or “lifeline” as Magnus prefers to call it. For example, if Billy has $4,000 in his lifeline balance, but fails to pay any money at the end of the month, $4,000 will be subtracted from his lifeline leaving him at $0. If the lifeline balance reaches zero, the contract will be terminated.
Other than finding a method of obtaining the moneywhich is usually illegal, the process seems harmless and simple, right?
Wrong.
In big, bold letters near the bottom of the contract is one statement that will cause every pen-wielding hand to hesitate.
”If, at any moment in time, the lifeline balance of a client should reach $0, the contract and client shall be terminated and executed.”
Once the contract is signed there is will be no changing of heart; no running away. Escape attempts will result in instantaneous termination of the contract and life of the person.
So, are you prepared to sign your

Valencia Nox - The Daughter - 17 - [Reserved for Python]
Daughter of Magnus, she is what everybody expects a rich girl to be: Pretty, spoiled, and selfish. She lives a pampered and “perfect“ lifestyle, leading her to becoming a main focus of hatred in the mansion. She is not, however, malicious and cruel like her father. On the contrary, she does not approve of the “special condition” of his contract and has witnessed firsthand what he is capable of. She is actually anxious and concerned for those who dwell in her home, especially for one boy in particular; Drace Vandel. She has been attracted to the mysterious boy since the beginning, but forces herself not to act upon her desires in fear of rejection what may happen to him. Still, she can occasionally be seen stealing glances of him and making friendly conversation, for she cannot help but be drawn to him like a magnet.
Drace Vandel [pronounced “drayse”] - The Gambler - 18 - [Reserved for Dars]
Ask about “Poker Face Drace” and anybody will tell you that he’s the best gambler in district 3. He has an uncanny ability to hide his emotions and read the facial expressions of others, allowing him never to be fooled by a façade. He comes across as being distant, mysterious, and quiet, but in reality he is the friendliest and most mature member of the household. He can socialize with just about anyone, and has developed a close relationship with Dexter - whom he shares a room with - and Valencia herself. He shares a mutual attraction with her, but fears what may come from Magnus Nox if he even touches his precious daughter, and will try to avoid her as much as possible to resist the temptation. So far they have only reached friendly terms. Ironically, Drace and his sister Damea were raised by a wealthy family, but after a mysterious fire burned down their home and killed their parents they were forced to fend for themselves in the streets with nothing but ashes to inherit. When he discovered Magnus’ contract, he reluctantly signed it in hopes of returning to an easy lifestyle free of starvation. Since gambling is his game he uses it to earn his money, and so far he is doing quite well.
Lifeline Balance: $12,000
Dexter Magma - The Mugger - 18 - [Reserved for Arx]
Tall, muscular, and rough around the edges, Dexter is the most intimidating member of the house with the exception of Magnus. The only other members he can stand to talk to are Drace and Krisondra, and why he has taken a liking to Krisondra is unknown - but the two have become close companions over time. There is nobody, however, that hates Valencia more than he does. He’s convinced that she is as manipulative and malicious as her father, and refuses to even acknowledge her when she enters a room. Dexter sought Magnus’ contract after he was released from the Detention Center for a crime his bother committed. With nothing and nobody he could to return to, he discovered Magnus and signed his contract with little hesitation. He somewhat regrets making such a rash decision, but uses his brute strength as a tool to earn his money. In a black hoody, he stalks the streets at night and attacks the innocent for their wallets and purses. Despite his wielding a knife to their throats, however, Dexter does not have the heart to kill an innocent person. He is actually more sympathetic than most would believe, and cannot stand to watch others suffer
Lifeline Balance: $9,000
Shadow Conway - The Drug Dealer - 16 - [Reserved for Wonder]
Shadow is the most outgoing person in the entire mansion. He is optimistic, talkative, sweet, and loves nothing more than to make his companions laugh. He tends to look past a person’s flaws and concentrate on the positive aspects. For example, he does not revel in despising Valencia. He enjoys her company and considers her a friend, because he knows she is not evil like her father. He shares a room with Tiberius - his best friend and object of affection - and signed the contract after he ran away from a sexually sadistic mother at age 15. He sells drugs on the street to earn his money, though his most abundant substances are tobacco and alcohol. He steals these items from stores and sells them for slightly higher prices to loyal customers with Tiberius by his side. Shadow is secretly in love with Tiberius, but has tricked himself into believing that Tiberius is straight and unwilling to date Shadow. To distract himself from his conflicting emotions he focuses his attention upon the newbie, Cloud McKinley, who is definitely a pleasant sight to behold.
Lifeline Balance: $6,000
Tiberius Haze - #2 Drug Dealer - 17 - [Reserved for Cass]
Tiberius cannot compete with his comrade’s optimism and cheerful spirit, but he is second in line to being the most extroverted. He can always be seen spending time with his roommate/best friend/partner in crime. He, like Shadow, sells drugs on the street, but focuses mainly upon pills and hallucinogens - poisons he would never consume in a million years. Being born and raised in alleys and homeless shelters, he adapted trust issues, and will only confide in few members of the household. These members are Shadow, Drace, and Damea. Shadow because he is his best friend, Drace because he is the most trustworthy, and Damea because he admires her strong spirit. On the other hand, Tiberius hates Valencia with a passion, and unlike Shadow will ignore her and glare at her whenever she is nearby. He is also secretly homosexual and too afraid to admit it - especially since he is in love with Shadow, who is now taking a strange liking to Cloud. This has left Tiberius raging with jealousy, and he has now dedicated himself to bullying the poor boy.
Lifeline Balance: $6,000
Damea Vandel [pronounced “da-mee-uh“] - The Thief - 16 - [Reserved for Jimmeh]
Drace’s stubborn younger sister who seeks her own independence. She cares about her brother as much as he cares about her, but decided that she was tired of constantly being protected by him. She wanted to make her own decisions and inherit her own success through her own dedication and hard work. Unfortunately, she overestimated her own skills as a thief and is teetering on the edge of losing her contract. Although she will never admit it she deeply regrets her decision and tries to hide her bouts of sobbing by acting tough and confident. She is one character that also hates Valencia - and is clueless of her brother’s attraction to her. The only people she considers true friends are Royce Hawks and Tiberius, Roy being the closest. The brutal loss of Roy has changed her, however, and she is slowly losing her emotional stability as a result.
Lifeline Balance: $1,000
Krisondra Queens - The Prostitute - 18 - [Reserved for che1sey]
Krisondra is bitter, solemn, and hates everything about her life. At age 16 she was sold as a sex slave by her father to a man who lived down the street. She escaped a month later and desperately tried to find a decent way to live until she discovered Magnus and his contract. When she realized that she couldn’t raise the money, she opted to sell her body for it. She hates Magnus because he is a bastard, and she hates Valencia because she is everything she wants to be. The only person she can stand is Dexter, who has strangely become a close companion of hers. She is also trying to develop a small friendship with the newbie, Cloud. She shares a room with Damea, but the two rarely speak to one another. She would rather keep to herself than butt into anybody else’s business.
Lifeline Balance: $4,000
Cloud McKinley - The Newbie - 16 - [Reserved for Night]
Cloud is the sensitive, bashful type of guy. He is awkward is social situations and feels intimidated by those who can talk a mile a minute. He is the newest member of the household and signed Magnus’ contract after being abandoned by his family of 4 brothers - a family who apparently did not want him. He had two thousand saved up to make the down payment for the contract, but has yet to figure out how he will make his future payments (it’s up to you). He sleeps in a bedroom by himself and is not yet acquainted with any of the other members, though Shadow and Krisondra both seem to want to get close to him.
Lifeline Balance: $2,000
Royce Hawkes - Deceased - 16 - Unplayable
Roy was the newest member behind Krisondra, and Damea’s closest friend. After his lifeline balance reached zero, he was executed in the basement of Magnus’ home. Only the gunshot could be heard by the other members, but they all know exactly what happened to him. Cloud now occupies his old room.
