Epee Round 1: Libertine vs. Shore

Kraken hated this he really did, he hated competition in which he would have to go out in front of all those people and prove that he was amazing, he had to show them all just how good he was and just what he was capable of. He did not like this. It took too much effort and it distracted him from what he had to do, but then he had signed up for this, he had put his name down. He liked swords so what better way to show them all how good he was then with a sword. But he had not believed it would involve him putting on some ridiculous suit and fighting a girl. He almost choked with laughter as he saw the girl make his way in front oh him as she moved to him, with her sword. It was really quite funny.

But he had not expected her to hit him. She did it, she hit Kraken Libertine, the toughest guy in the fucking district was hit by a fucking girl. That would not bde well for his reputation

His eyes narrow. The fact that he had just received appoint due to her stupid error don’tnot even make him flinch. Right now he was burning; right now he stared at the girl in front of him with hate. She had just said something that had made his eyes blaze with a fire of loathing. She had mentioned that bitch Stark Harper. The girl that had killed his sister. She had put herself into the league of a monster. “I see you have sunk to the level of naming yourself as a coward. But, if you want to see yourself as Stark Harper then so be it. It will make my victory even better.” As he spoke her name he could not prevent the venom that fell from his lips. He hated that girl; she had killed Pen, with a cold fury he leapt forward to the girl in front of him.

Kraken Libertine was a career, he trained everyday like a slave just so that when his name was called he could show them all, who he was and what he was capable of. He would not let a pathetic girl make him think differently, he would not let her twist his words and let her get away with her speaking about his family in that way. The Libertine’s were the best district four families. It looked like he was going to have to teach her just that. “Oh really? What would a little sloppy girl like you be able to do to me? You are a nothing, just like everyone else in your district.” He sneered.

Another hit to him. That should wipe the smile from her face.

He raised an eyebrow as the words dripped from her lips; they weren’t very good, just the normal insults, your fat, more to hit. Nothing new about it, just the standard form of bullying, something that Kraken Libertine knew very well. He was a bully, but he was more creative then the girl in front of him. She leapt forward telling him to make this a show. He shrugged, raising the dull sword up to do as he was always trained; he shoved the girl’s sword away from him. “Is that the best you have, sweetheart? You sure are fighting like Stark Harper, no wonder you lot have always failed at the games, you all fight like her.”

He grinned at the girl in front of him, whos name he did not know.

“You are right this is not The Games, but it is still a game. There will still be a winner and a loser, we might not die, but there are people watching, we are being urged to fight and compete. It is a game and I am going to win.” He eyes her up and down. She was not very bright if she could not tell as much. His eyes flickered to look out over the crowd, the people watching them, the people watching him. They wanted a fight, they wanted to see someone win, they wanted a show, just like the games, because this was like the games, there just wasn’t any death. Death might be the turning factor to change between the two, but it was not. Dying in the Hunger Games was just another way saying you had lost; you had been beaten in a fight. It was the same as right now.

And right now Kraken was winning this game.

He almost laughed at her comment, almost. She was a very cocky little girl, he could plainly see that. “I bet you think you are amazing, you think you are top shit.” He nodded his head as he spoke, ignoring her latest hit on him, if he could keep his lead he would be fine, he just needed to keep hitting her. He honestly did not care if she thought she was amazing, he thought he was amazing. Kraken knew he was the best, there was no doubt in his mind that he was the bravest, hottest and strongest guy in district four and almost every other district.
