Why you chose these characters: Okay, well for one, I never wrote a cross-dresser/transgender and this would be a great opportunity to get the chance to! And also, we all have quirky habits, but his is extremely prominent and it would be really fun to write him!

Celeste is well... strange. Because although she has the beauty some girls would die for, the way she uses it is unorthodox. It's not exactly to charm a boy to get into his pants, but it's more like charming a boy for his pants and that's what makes her so unique and different.

Character ideas: Kirk's dad, although not entirely absent from their life and not necessarily a bad father-figure, was never exactly there too often for the Magpies. Perhaps if Kirk's dad was present more when he was younger, things would have turned out differently. But he wasn't around, and that's just how the cookie crumbles. And, even though his older sisters only beat him by a couple of years, they influenced him greatly when he was a toddler. Because, without an older brother or father, how was Kirk supposed to know what a real guy acted like? He had tried, oh yes he did, but there comes a time when you just have to give in and just be what you're meant to be. And Kirk was meant to be a girl. While growing up, Kirk was always overzealous of little things. For example, when he was five, he would collect fallen pinecones for the longest time, polishing them with paintbrushes and washing them gently. But all of his silly habits have always came and gone, except for one: Cross dressing. To him, of course, there's nothing exactly wrong about it. But to others, it could be viewed as a sort of taboo routine. Kirk knows a lot of people are uncomfortable around him - including his twin brother - but that doesn't bother him. He knows he's not normal, and he's accepted the fact. Although, sometimes, he wishes his life was different. Doesn't everyone?

Celeste is well... a bit of an enigma to everyone around her. People know about Celeste, they know how she loves the spotlight on her and the attention that comes with it. They know that she knows how to work a boy. She knows how to make someone fall for her, only to break their hearts after she gets what she wants. And no, what she wants isn't love or sex. It's jewelry. She is a girl, after all, and never exactly was in the best economic situation. So why wouldn't she be attracted to any shiny piece of silver that catches her eyes? She, contrary to popular belief, is still a virgin. But, with the measures she goes to get what she wants... it wouldn't be a surprise if anyone thought otherwise.

How you think Mother Magpie's sisters disappeared: Okay this is really really really dumb okay but bear with me. It's really confusing in my head so yeah.

The two twins still lived together although their age recommended doing otherwise. One morning, one of the twins walked down to the kitchen to see their neighbor, Mr. Magpie, leaving the house. In shock, all the twin said was "Good morning, Mr. Magpie." Then, Mr. Magpie came back, and killed the girl. The other twin was already dead, and that's why he was there.

See, they had a pet cat, Pluto. And a week ago, Pluto ate one of the plants in Mr. Magpie's garden. Apparently, the plant was poisonous to cats, and Pluto passed away. BUT, the plant was what was keeping Mr. Magpie's wife alive, and after the cat ate it and there was no more of the plant left, the wife died. To get revenge, he killed the cat's owner, and left her in the bed. But, once the other twin discovered him leaving her house, he killed her. Then, he took the twins to his house, and buried them right in his yard. Right where the plants that kept his wife alive were.

Why you chose these characters:
Well, concerning Justice, I just love, love, love the contrast of her sad personality with the penchant for bright clothing. I haven't spent much time Rping in D5 and I'd like to get more done in that district, especially for a plot this big. Justice just kind of speaks to me, I guess. Isaac was my second choice simply because he's the only normal one in a family full of people that are a bit... off.

Character ideas: For whatever reason, I feel like she would be fascinated by balloons and insects. She'd be drawn to those little helium filled things as they are the antithesis of her nature, willingly floating away on the wind without a care or an anchor in the world. Maybe add a little bit of creepy in there. Like she thinks the floating balloons are souls slipping the surly bonds or earth or something. As for insects, she loves them. They have such a short lifespan that she's sure that they must know of their impending doom which is why they live life to the fullest like her. Of course, she ends their lives by sticking them with pins to a corkboard. Oh yeah, did I mention she has a dead butterfly 'n' beetle collection in her room? Yeah. She's obsessed with finding beauty in death, because she feels like it it coming for her soon.

For her history, well, she's always been the oldest so she's kind of the listening ear, the ray of sunshine in an otherwise depressing existence. However, despite a decidedly bubbly personality she has a tendency to make people feel worse about a situation than they already do. For a girl as brightly attired as she is, her outlook on life is pretty dark. When she's in a bad mood, you may hear her quietly sobbing about how today is the day she's going to die. She does not fear the games, but does not welcome them either. When she does eventually go, it will be morose and heart-wrenching and lovely. Not a hackjob like the deaths of tributes.

She has a flair for the dramatic if you haven't realized it by now.
I wouldn't say she's obsessed with mirrors, but she has a love/hate relationship with them. What she sees is not always what is. How do people feel when she informs them of her upcoming death, or when she tells them that they too are dying. That everyone started dying the very moment they first took a breath as a babe? She is an enigma, a young woman caught between the doors of life and death, or so she would claim.

I'll end this app with a rather famous poem by Emily Dickinson that goes hand in hand with the ideas I have for Justice.

Because I could not stop for Death –

As for Isaac...
He can't wait to get out of this house full of weird women and start living his life for what truly matters...himself.

I feel that he'd be kind of a jerk because in a family like this, he'd be the odd one out. Does thinking you are the only sane person you know make you crazy? Isaac believes that that may be a good possibility. He's the normal one. Which makes him different. He's far more concerned with anything that goes on outside of his house than in it.

How you think Mother Magpie's sisters disappeared:


The way I see it, the Magpie children's aunts vanished for a myriad number of reasons. This is district five, the district of electricity and power. Many of the residents grow up wanting such; craving it. The chance to be top dog is almost too much for some people and they'd to anything for a taste of the good life. Enter Mrs. Magpie and her two sisters. As the eldest, she always felt outdone and overlooked by her younger and far more successful siblings. She was nothing but a homebody, and both of them were mechanically inclined, rising stars that made their trade in fixing things and discovering new ways to drill for oil.

If that wasn't enough to make her jealous, they were also more attractive then her, and yet neither one had ever wed, sticking to their careers the way she wished she had. This bitterness grew and grew under the pretense of aloofness. One day, while she was poking around in their workshop, she found the plans for a strange device, something that could potentially provide limitless energy for the Capitol. She confronted her sisters about it, and both denied the existence of any such blueprints until she brought them out. What followed was a desperate struggle which ended in the destruction of nearly all of the designs her sisters had made, and a physical scar that the mother carries to this day. Outraged that they had injured her son, she alerted some peacekeepers to possible rebellious acts towards the Capitol, giving them the single un-destroyed piece of design paper and telling them that she was afraid it was a bomb.

Her sisters were arrested the following night, while she watched from a window with glee they were beaten and battered and tossed into a transport to a detention center. The place where they languish to this day, if they still live. But a woman with a heart as hard as hers cares little. Her sisters had their chance to be the good ones. The cool ones. Like the bird of her namesake, she hoards her children, her money, her respect and anything else she can get her hands on. And with her sisters gone...

All things bright and beautiful belong to her.

Why you chose these characters: Derp, this is awkward xDD Well I'm reading "Death of a Kleptomaniac" by Kristen Tracey right now, and while it's not exactly a study of kleptos, it can certainly help to inform my writing. I was also close friends with a kleptomaniac in high school. Really glad I was on the outside of that dilemma! It's such a compelling need... a craving, she once called it. Anyhow, I'm pretty efficient at writing bios, and while I am glacial at posting (no point in hiding that fact!) I do love to be a part of plots, and I really love the character you've outlined for Celeste.

Character ideas: Celeste's saving grace is that it did, in fact, take her seven years to bloom. Seven years of being an ugly duckling to teach her about humility and patience. Seven years of being an average middle child, prone to tantrums, but none so great as Kirk threw. Seven years of admiring things from afar - toys, trinkets, beaded scarves. Seven years of wondering just what she would do, could do, if she ever got her hands on any of them.

Those formative years mellowed Celeste out considerably. Just imagine if she had been born beautiful, one of those round, wide-eyed babies. Oh she was wide-eyed, like all of her siblings, but there was a certain sickliness to her, a pervasively slenderness that made her never seem quite child-like. She just wasn't cute the way other babies were.

And so she grew up wanting.

Her transformation to a graceful swan happened over the course of two months, during the summer of her seventh year. Her torso finally grew to match her gangling limbs, her hair softened and curled in the humidity for the first time, and her eyes finally settled from stormy to a crystal clear blue. It would be five years before she developed the pleasing curves of womanhood, but already at seven it was clear she would be a knockout. It was not something Celeste, or perhaps anyone, could have predicted. She found the transition, like all growing pains, awkward as she was suddenly thrust into the spotlight. Boys at school began to have crushes on her, her best friends gossip mercilessly behind her back, and she found herself isolated from her siblings who genuinely had bigger concerns.

For a time, before she truly became a teenager, Celeste sought refuge with her twin aunts, who showered her with attention. They complimented her jewel eyes, her delicate, bird bones. Their constant flattery helped Celeste to shed her shy nature for a more confident, if no less lonely, one. After all, what did she have to contribute to her hormonal, confused family? A pretty face cannot replace an absent father, cannot balance a bitter mother.

It can't even bring back the aunts who helped her through so much, until she found something even shinier to distract her attention: stealing.

Of course Celeste doesn't think about it like that. Her mind is a place of doors, compartments where she can stick her cross-dressing brother, her sister who doesn't quite belong. She puts the action of taking there too, although her physical treasures are spread throughout the Magpie household, in more than thirty different cubbies. These are secrets manifested, the silver fork that caught her eye, the opalescent bauble that she craved. These truly could help her family, but for now, they are only helping Celeste to define herself.

Face Claim ideas: Brittany Snow? She has that very girl next door look, while still radiating beauty.

And instead let's try Mischa Barton, who seems to fit with the big eyes theme here but still with the strong facial structure of natural beauty.

How you think Mother Magpie's sisters disappeared:

With such a prophecy, how could the aunts be anything but mirthful? But there isn't just one prophecy about the magpies, as we've seen. One for sorrow - everyone can agree on that. A magpie estranged from family is one doomed bird. Two for mirth and joy - this we've demonstrated too. Are the twins not better together? Are they not the heart and soul of the family, even in absentia?

The third is where the prophecy divides. Three for a girl, and funeral. This number is the downfall of the twins. For the vast majority of their lives their protection has been each other, always together, always mindful of the superstitions of others. What is superstition but fear, after all? And nothing could scare them. Not their growing sister's family, not the hardship of living in District Five. Nothing could separate them, not the six year threat of reapings, not the desperate hearts of men.

As it so often happens, this pair of birds had been looking for the wrong things. The wrong suitor, the wrong predator. Had they known that a woman would be their downfall, they might have been able to prepare, to continue their merriment.

Too late they realized they had fallen for the same woman.

Too late they realized they had both confided in their bitter, temperamental sister.

As it turns out, jealousy is something of a distiller for joy, an emotion that makes all of life's edges a little sharper. For a time they both dallied with their shared mistress, and for a time, they found happiness in their quiet deviance. But the Magpie matriarch wasn't content to let them get away with such a scandal, not after all she'd been through. Hadn't she suffered an absent husband, a daughter who came too late, a son who could not be convinced to conform?

The twins heard it from Halle, a warning from the raven's mouth. They left in the night, grieving for their nieces and nephews, for the woman who had come between them. But there's no stronger bond than that of fugitives.

Why you chose these characters: Well I chose Justice because I have a friend who is a lot like that. I've known her since like kindergarten, and I've always tried to help her out. I was also like that for a time so I know how to rp that kind of attitude well. It like a really deep depression, one that eats away at your heart and soul, makes you feel like you just want to die, but you're stuck in this world. There isn't an escape from the feeling either, no matter what you do you always feel like the weight of the world is crushing down on you. I still have issues with thinking I don't belong, but it's better now. Than for Elodie, well I've had plans to start a charrie that was a prostitute for a while now. Something about that kind of person has always fascinated me, perhaps not something that should fascinate me but it does. What draws them to do it, why do they have the urge, what goes on in their minds. I guess I think it would be fun to try and rp with a prostitute.

Character ideas: Well I want to build on Justice's issues, the fact that she feels she doesn't fit in, that a part of her is missing. Like she is only part of a person, and there is another part of somewhere out in the world, the part that has all of her happiness. To wander the world living a life of non existence, to be feel as if you are not tied down to this world. It started out as only small things when she was younger, she was alwayas considered a black rain cloud, a depressed young girl. No one wanted to spend any time with her because she was like a plague, if you spent time with her all the happiness might get sapped from your body.

As she grew older it only grew worse, she felt like she was a spirit with a fading existence. She would sit and watch the wind blow up the dust and watch light items get swept up in a breeze. Than she would wonder if she would be like that, she wasn't a whole person, would the wind simply pick her up and blow her away to. This started the habit of tying herself down to things when she wasn't moving. Sitting down or just standing in one place she felt the need to tie herself down to "anchor" herself to this world. It only grew worse as she got older though, she puts "weights" in her shoes and likes to wear clothes that have what she considers "weights" on them.

Her personality didn't improve with age though, infact if anything it got worse. She would mope around with nary a good word said about anything or anyone. What good is there to say when the impending doom in nigh, after all she shouldn't make friends if they and she will just die soon. She's jealous of the people who die young, they get to escape the impending doom, just watch is the world goes up in flame. Nothing will ever change her outlook, no amount of color, life, or radinace will change that.

Well I want to build on Elodie, how she doesn't want to associate with any of the rest of her family. How her differences set her apart, and not in a good way. This drove her to seek pleasure and happiness in other sources, some of them...questionable. She enjoys the payment though, it's a little ray of happiness in the dark world she lives in.

How you think Mother Magpie's sisters disappeared: They were in the way of the overbearing, overprotective, Mother Magpie. She devised an idea to get rid of them to remove them from the picture. Everything she had, her children, her "wealth", everything, it was all hers. The details are sketchy about exactly how she got them out of the picture. All that's know for sure is one night they just disappeared without a trace. They were never heard from again.

Holy crap guys, why did you have to make this so hard for me? I'd like to thank everyone who applied, you're all such incredible writers and your ideas gave me chills! However, without turning this whole family into a creepy mess of twins, triplets and Goravich-esque quintuplets a thousand different personalities, I can't do what I really want to do and accept all of you D:

Justice Magpie will be played by the excellent Charade. Charade -- I particularly liked your ideas about helium balloons and, omg, that insect collection. I have a feeling that she might pull all their wings off before she pins them down because if she hasn't floated away yet then why should they? The face claim you found, even though those links still haven't worked xD fits her perfectly. The photos are bright and she has an interesting face which combines some inner joy with an outwards mystery and washed-out sorrow.

Meryem Magpie will be played by the fabulous Specialk. That face claim makes me shiver, Spesh, she's absolutely ideal for this part. Your ideas about her just aimlessly wandering the streets could turn into something extraordinary, perhaps attracting the attention of Peacekeepers who have kept her in check before and leading them to the Magpie house, where they uncover secrets about the disappearance of Aunts Magpie? Or maybe she could bump into Elodie, stumbling out of some sleazebag's house, but she's in too much of a stupor to notice - even if Elodie doesn't know that... I also love your idea that even when she's not under the influence of drugs, she still has this short term memory loss that basically gives her the same detatched effect that her drugs do. I would love to see you pick up on that in your biography and posts!

Kirk Magpie will be played by the incredible Danny. Idk why, you're tacky and I hate you The way you picked up on previous obsessions that Kirk had really showed me how much you understand this character. The fact that the trigger for his realisation was the absence of a male role model is perfect, especially if the father does actually come back to the family at some time in the future. Who knows? Danny, I can't wait to write this with you. Your writing in the past has given me total confidence that you will bring Kirk to life accurately and totally. I'd love it if you picked up on the way he does actually try to be everyone else's perception of 'normal', sometimes. Maybe he goes out with Isaac to go and meet some District officials, and wears a suit to try and fit in? It could all go horribly wrong and someone could notice an accessory or a mannerism that just wasn't quite right. Also, um Callikrates Schiele

Isaac Savoy Magpie will be played by the stunning Cass. Cass, I hope you don't mind me picking Savoy as his chosen name rather than Ashwin xD The conflict between normality and superiority you talked about is a really interesting idea. I think that you'll really be able to develop it, especially when witnessing the rituals of some of his more bizarre siblings; for instance, watching Elodie count her gold and wondering where she gets it from, and how taking it would be so simple, and how it wouldn't even matter if he did because his need to get away was more than her need to have the money in the first place. I have always thought that you're writing is spectacular. I'm delighted to offer you this character, and can't wait to see how you bring him to life!

Celeste Magpie will be played by the exquisite Kay. Just, omg Kay, the Ugly Duckling, I just, you're unbelievable. You've created a Celeste I could never have dreamed could be so complex, someone not so shallow that they manipulate people solely for the reward, but someone who uses their beauty as a reassurance to themself. The way her aunts were her source of confidence, and how a void was left by their disappearance, really got to me. I'd love to see you emphasise the way she knows that the wealth she's taken from shop windows and boys' hearts wallets could help her family pick itself up again, but that some hatred for the abnormality of the Magpies, as well as a care for her own problems, compells her to keep her pretty things for herself. I'm still rooting for Darla Baker to play Celeste but, if not, I'm going to recommend Barbara Palvin who I hadn't even realised Arx had put forward for Elodie, omg for the part. She's young, beautiful and has done so many interviews and editorials on Youtube that there's a lot of moving material for you to look at!<3

Elodie Magpie will be played by the unmatchable Arx. Can I just start by saying, omg, Carmen Solomons is absolutely ideal for this part. Kudos to you for finding her, I loved every picture I saw of her more than the last, and she really brings out elements of Elodie's character which I have every confidence you will write stunningly. I'm really looking forward to reading your version of her history. I would love to see some comparison going on in her mind between the woman who left her behind and the one who came to rescue her. Perhaps, as she grew older, the two blended together and she started to think that Mama Magpie was her real mother, and had just come back to pick her up again? Of course, this would all go away as her features developed and she started to look so different to her "twin", Celeste. I'm really happy yo applied and I know that you'll do Elodie justice! Pardon the pun

Lastly, but by no means leastly, Francesca Halle Samara Magpie will be played by my husband Tristen. Bb, I'm so happy you applied, because your writing is incredible. I really enjoyed reading your app, and I particularly love the notion that she goes off into the woods to hear the birds. Could she perhaps take them home again and, seeing Justice mutilate the insects, kill them and hang them up so they look like they can still fly, but can no longer sing? Creepy but, eh, Magpies xD I'd love it if you wrote more about her relationship with her older siblings, particularly Celeste and Savoy. I think that Savoy would see her almost as a ticket out of there, a sob story to play on and someone who wouldn't complain when Savoy told her what to do. Make sure to work it out with Cassbaby, I have every faith that you'll be incredible!

Oh and, as for the issue of how the aumnts vanished... My favourite ideas were Kay's, Arx's and Kiah's. But, um I can onyl choose one so... I think that for the purpose of reasons, Kay's account of what happened works the best. For this reason, Tristen, if you could work into your biography that the aunts were warned by Halle that hey had to run away, then I'm so happy for you to still say that it was the mother that stopped her from singing any more of her secrets out, because wow that's so chilling, I love it! And to the rest of you, if anyone wants to write that their Magpie saw something... suspicious... around the house or the District, maybe they saw Mama talking to a Peacekeeper, or the half-packed suitcases at their aunts' house, or a woman hanging round their house, a mutual friend - a mutual love...

Thanks for all your ideas, I'm sure they will be making an appearance some way or another into this story line! To all of you who didn't get a part this time round, I really really appreciate the fact that you signed up for this plot. All of your ideas were, in their own way, outstanding and I was really amazed by how thought through they all were. I love you guys! Stay tuned for another plot in the near future!
