Paths crossing again (Cameo...open?)

Continuing to stroll all of a sudden Cameo spots, from the corner of her eye, Nick being pulled into what seemed to be a shop with a home attached in the back. Her first instincts was to of course go into that direction. It had been so long that she had even seen Nick, and it wasn't like the reunion was very sweet. But still Nick had stuck up for Cameo before, and she owed him that.

Breaking and entering was sadly something Cameo was pro at, and after a quiet attempt to open two windows the third one slides up with ease. An evil sly grins slide across her face and she sneaks into the building.


Down the hall in the only lit room the chair spins around to older, rounder gentlemen that puts out his cigar, unpleased that this visit is very over due. "I'll give you a minute to explain." He demands angrily though that was him being nice. A more fit guy is in the door frame, and with a simple eye contact from the older man closes and steps in front of the door as if to be intimidating. "You know if I harm you I'd never make my money." He threatens knowing that Nick knew what he meant.

As soon as Cameo manages to make it inside, footsteps are heard which causes the scrawny girl to hide underneath a table that luckily has a clothe. At least it was dark in here; with no blinds for people to see inside and no lights on to actually see inside. The footsteps head towards the door, where a little light from the outside makes the visitor and other guy a clear view. The one answering the door certainly looks built, where the older gentlemen knocking looks homeless and helpless. First instincts were to shoo the old guy away and close the door, except that the shaky, wrinkled hand attempts to hold the door open.

“You have an intruder.” He says in with a stutter. “Short, blonde.” Then the bulky guy slams the door on spy, what more use after information was he? This of course got the bulky guy on edge, who immediately dashed to the other room to tell the others and start looking around, the boss wouldn’t be pleased that this happened.

The only sign of life was light beaming from the bottom of a closed door. Cameo had no clue what she was doing besides the fact she owed Nick and could feel the bad energy surrounding the place. Gulping Cameo tiptoed/crawled towards the door after spotting several hiding places to stop at on the way. Pressing her ear lightly against the door while the rest of her body hid behind the corner, Cameo attempted to listen to what was going on.


On the inside of the door Mr. Greens is not pleased with Nick’s attempt to keep part of the cash, as if he didn’t owe him enough already. As if he was a mind reader the bigger guy grabs Nick’s shoulders for the boss to grab the cash Nick rudely toke back. “Food?” Mr. Greens laughs to himself because what guy thinks about food before other necessities like beer and entertainment. Opening it right in front of Nick as if to be teasing, he counts to money as he sits on the edge of his desk. “Still not even enough.” He laughs again but this time more sarcastically.

Getting up Mr. Green walks behind his desk to place the money in a drawer and sit back down at his desk. “The interest went up.” He informs writing on a piece of paper how much Nick now owed him and also paid off. “What’s more important; you eating, or you daughter?”

The only thing Cameo could tell was that it was about Nick's debt, and his daughter was mentioned. That certainly didn't sound good, still there was no immediate danger for Cameo to jump in on, though it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Hearing the sound of more footsteps, Cameo snuck more into hiding, good thing she was so tiny. Mutters about unable to find the intruder and the need to finally tell the boss, that didn't sound too good either. Gulping Cameo stayed in place as the two guys walked past her, as she stayed completely invisible in the dark corner, and into the room she was spying on.


The boss sits up in his chair, not happy that someone bellow him making a threatening move to go so close to his desk. Matching Nick's movements he placed his own palms on his desk to stand up. "I don't think you're in any place to debate this." He says with his eyebrows arched together, then suddenly he's interrupted by the door slamming open to two of his workers in the door frame.

"There's been report of someone unknown breaking inside." One informs with fright, in only they knew it was a skinny short girl.

Before Cameo even realizes the search becomes more intense something hits the side of her head to force her to the ground. "Oh shit." Is all Cameo can mutter before being pulled to her feet with her arms pinned behind her. "Watch it buddy." She scolds as he pats her down for anything. Of course the guy doesn't listen but instead drags Cameo into the room the supposedly boss is.

The first thing she spots is Nick but is quick to dart her blue eyes down to stare at the floor; the last thing he needed was to be associated with someone that just broke in. "What are you doing here?" The boss asks with what looks like steam pouring from him.

"Looked like an interesting place, wanted to check it out." Cameo answers with sarcasm though there was a small scratch from fear she hoped no one could hear.

It never did work with adults, and of course it wouldn't with a guy like this . "I don't like intruders." He informs.

"Then I better go." Cameo offers though an attempt to the door becomes a small nudge and put back into place.

"Do you know.." Mr. Greens takes a second to look at Cameo as if to judge her outfit and gender. "Her?" He asks Nick.

When Nick adds 'him' it burns Cameo's heart a bit, it might of been a while ago but he was the only one to know for certain Cameo was a girl. Gritting her teeth Cameo attempt to keep her cool ego in check, this was the type of danger she was told to stay out of. Something about authorities pissed Cameo off, especially when it was in such a physical way, she needed control.

The thin blonde locks are practically ripped from Cameo head when one of the guys yanks her head back to ask a question. "I don't know know damn Travis." Cameo spits out perfectly because it was true she didn't, she knew Nick, but who was Travis? Obviously it was another name, but Cameo could hold her tongue. For that at least because she certainly wasn't keeping down her sarcasm which probably wasn't the best idea.

The twiggy legs are kicked from the back for Cameo to land on her knees with a nice thug. "Do you know what we do to intruders?" Mr. Greens asks before remembering Nick was still in the room. "I guess since you've paid and don't know this person you may leave." He suggests raising his eyebrows because this would be the last test to see if Nick did know her.

For some reason it stings to see Nick walk away after weak eye contact. Then of course Cameo couldn't blame him and just felt completely stupid as her head dropped down in defeat. These weren't the typical Career bullies Cameo actually had a chance of fending off. Looking around they certainly appeared like them though, as if they were Nick's versions. The only difference was she was alone in this fight, that couldn't even be fairly called a fight given the circumstance.

After two evenly separated slap tattoos across Cameo's face, she was asked once again what she was doing there. Her cheeks stung like hundreds of fire ants, but still nothing compared to hearing the door shut with Nick on the other side leaving. "Just looking around." Cameo repeats with a hint of growl in her voice.

This of course they didn't appreciate and gladly gave Cameo a knee to her stomach; which was always the worst with how little meat protected it. Taking a gasp for air, Cameo felt that horrible feeling of wanting to puke but having nothing to do so with. "You know I'm a girl." Cameo informs as if it was going to make a difference.

"We like to treat everyone with short hair equally around here." Mr. Greens says as if to be a cruel joke.
