With an angered screech we collide, and I slam her forcefully against the tree. Wasting no time I snare her wrists against the trunk to her side, shoving her body backwards. My six foot frame easily pins her, but I'm struck with sudden confusion. Why haven't the hunters caught me yet?
That's right, I'm in District Nine. It's nearly impossible to get here from the Open Forest. I am... safe?
Never. You must run away from this place. I shake my head vigorously, a threatening growl rumbling from deep within my chest.
But I am hungry. I reply, lips never moving. Curiously I study the girl in front of me while waiting for a reply. Why did she rush me? She must be brave, or incredibly stupid.
Then eat. Without my consent my body lurches towards her, jaws parting to reveal glistening teeth. The monster urges me on as I lean in, clamping down on the fragile skin of the joint between her shoulder and throat. But before I can break the surface, I blink and jerk away as if struck, leaving nothing but an imprint.
Pulling back to stare at her hard, my eyebrows pull down into a thoughtful frown as I study her. Bright green eyes, soft features. Vibrant red hair.
"You.. are familiar." I murmur in mild confusion, with intrigue laced into the words. My voice is a mix of two pitches trying to occupy one space, my own contralto purr that has deepened slightly with age, and a guttural snarl that the monster holds; a falling crescendo that can be interesting or utterly terrifying. "My body refuses to hurt you."
(OOC: Now ain't that cute? You can choose to know her or not, doesn't bother me.)
