I try to fight the urge to yawn widely, try and fail. I've been working almost non-stop, day after day, some kind of illness is hitting the District. It's only a simple thing that clears up after a couple of days for most...but the ver old, the very young, and those with lower than average immune systes are hit hard. Sixteen have died already, five elderly, eleven children. I'd been treating six of those who hav died, the hospital is short-staffed and I've been working hard. I'm not sure how I'm going on after being forced to draw a six year-olds eyelids closed over ords that became glassy and lifeless and draw a sheet over the little girl's face.

I head for the coffee machine to get a cup, Jacob's there. My friend he may be but he gets in the way of my work sometimes...like now...

"You're not looking so good Daek..." he murmur, sipping his own cup, "You've been working too much, don't you even know it's 10am?"

I grin, "10am? I've only been at it twelve hours, why stop I'm needed here..."

He frowns even more, "10am on the fourth Daek" he says, "You started work 10pm on the first, I don't even know how you managed to keep awake this long"

I frown too, I didn't relaise it had been so long...the hours kind of blurred together, "Coffee" I say, "Lots of coffee". I shake my head, "Honestly Jake, I'm fi-" I yawn again, dammit

"Go home Daek" he says, "Get some sleep, if you're still in the ward at any point within the next twenty four hours I'm telling Doc Curtis, and you know what he'll say" I do, the head doctor wasn't a fan of exhausted staff, "Fine" I murmur, "I'll see you tomorrow"

I head for the locker room and strip off my uniform and chuck it in a disposal bin, the clothes are given to us sterilised, no point in reusing them until they've been resterilised, what if we brought diseases from ward to ward? I pull on a pair of jeans and an old, tee shirt I barely recognise as my own, then stick on a thick jacket over that. I close the locker and grab a cup of coffee I didn't get earlier from another machine and head out the door with it still in my hand.

My alarm starts going off with one of my favorite songs. I fumble around for th eoff button, but I only fall out of my bed. I quickly step ip to my feet and grab some clothes and a towel. I jump into my shower and turn on the hot water and cold water. I wash my hair and body. I step out of the shower and put on my plain blue tee shirt, and my old blue jeans.

"What do I want for breakfast," I say to myself. I decide on a cup of hot Earl Grey tea, and a peice of bread and butter. I step out of the door with the little bit of bread that was still in my hand. I stuff it into my house and begin my morning jog. When I start, my breath is white coming out of my body. After a few moments, I start to sweat and feel it running down my body.

OOC: Who needs underwear XD haha. I am joking. That's just common sense haha.

And yeah, Mmhmm ..
Yeah, she will be back in ten minutes at the most...

I down the paper cup of coffee and chuck it into a trash can at the first opportunity. I'm still pissed at Jake for forcing me out of the hospital, I could have helped...I sigh, I'm tired...I'll just head home, sleep for tenty four hours and return to the hospital ready to get back to work, that seems to be the best possible plan...

As I walk home feel inclined to take a little detour into the woods, or close to them. Home is a crowded appartment building, and it's so peaceful at the moment. In can see a tree on this side of the fence, I'm not stupid enough to antagonise the 'keepers by going in, so I settle in e tree's shade...there's a shape in the trees though, on the other side of te fence...a girl, "Hello?" I call out, "What are you doing there?"

I ash after her, "Hold on!" I shout after her, "Come back here! I'm not going t hurt you!" I'm so tired I'm no threat...but she doesn't know that...

I ash over to her, careful to mind the terrain. I kneel beside her and say, "You okay, don't worry, I'm a doctor, I can help if you're hurt..."
