Are they very critical?

The tone in his voice catches Kalina a bit off. She never would have expected him to be asking that sort of question, but she also didn't think about what he would be feeling toward meeting her parents. The question roamed around in her head. Were her parents critical? Did they judge harshly? Kalina, for a moment, stares to the ground. Her bewildered throughts taking over her attention for a mere moment before she replies.

"I wouldn't worry about it. Mom's cool about things, my dad's stern, but he's very understanding." She tells him. Kalina shoo's away her youngest sister only to have Tyler asking about the nickname, and begins to laugh. Kalina's mouth drops in a humerous way, her expression confused for the moment toward Tyler.

"What's so funny, huh?" She gently hits his arm in mock form of being angry, but the smile never leaves her face. "The nicknames are just between us. She's the one who calls me that. I sometimes call her flower, but that's just because of her name. You know, I'm the one who named her.. so I'm suprised that I didn't pick something ridiculous."

Kalina watches as Tyler takes a seat and comments on his cast. She could only imagine the pain it would be to have to carry that thing around. How much of a hinderance it would be and not being able to fully use a vital point of daily life normally. "I wish you could to, Tyler. Next week will be here before you know it and then we can finally make our plans to go swimming. Although, I'm hoping it won't be too cold when that happens."

Kalina felt his hand in her hand and for the moment got lost in the touch before the question came to her ears. Once again, like before with the question about her parents being critical or not, she had to think of how to describe them.

"Well, like I said, mom's pretty cool about things. She's the one you go to to ask for things and with the right look, usually Lotus or Saffron can do it, you'd get it. She's the reasonable one. Dad's... " She began. She knew that Tyler would be wanting to know about him and even though she never thought about what he'd do when she got someone to bring home to meet him, she was sure he would be fine as well. "well, he's very work oriented and stern. You know, he runs his own group down in the woods, so he's not one for nonsense, not even from me. But, he's the perfect person to talk to and supportive. Understanding."

The steam coming from the stove makes Kalina break the hand contact with Tyler. She gets up and takes to tending to the food for a moment, then returns to her seat once that was complete. She comes up behind Tyler, letting her arms wrap around Tyler's neck a moment.

"They don't bite, Tyler! Don't you disappear on me before they get here, alright?" She teased him with a small chuckle and grin, grazing his cheek with her lips before returning back to the stove doing more stuff to the pot, adding seasons and stirring the contents.
