Faith Campbell
District Ten
Age Twenty
For just a second Faith forgot that last night she decided it was probably best to visit her family. She gave each of the Lexington's a kiss, if on the cheek, or the forehead...and one on the lips, and went off to visit the blood family. They were all heavy sleepers and surprising them with breakfast just like old times sounded perfect. But once she woke up she completely forgot, reaching over to check on Jack, but to have emptiness. She certainly woke up with a fright from that one, until realizing she was in her own bedroom.
The attic steps that led to Faith's room was pulled down suddenly, once again scaring the redhead before her day even started. "Faith!" The little Hope climbed up the steps and nearly tackled her big sister. How much bigger she always is every time Faith manages to visit. It was difficult though with constant lectures.
"Hey baby girl." Faith greeted giving her a giant hug. And then her name rings through the house again, but this time not sweet as candy like her baby sister's. Her heart dropped at the sound of her step-mother's voice. Of course it'd be her. Faith was hoping to prepare breakfast to ease the fighting, but clearly it was going to occur right away.
"Do you not know where he came from?" Faith's Father does the scolding this time, asking if Faith was aware Jack returned from the DC. Of course she knew that, she wasn't stupid. She stayed quiet, but managed to slam around everything as she prepared them breakfast. "He's trouble!"
"Just like I said from day one." The step-mother chimes in, and Faith breaks an egg at the sound of her voice. Before Faith would protest back, not let them say anything bad about Jack. She realized how useless it was though, they never listened. They'd speak over her, or just ignore her all together. Pointless.
"Hope you know how to make eggs right?" Faith asks, bringing a fake smile to her face for the little girl. The tiny redhead nodded her head eagerly. "Great, finish these for me? Toast is in the oven." She kissed the top of Hope's head, grabbed her bag and walked out. No goodbyes for good old Father and step-mom. A few things were shouted after her as she stormed off; "don't go to Jacks!" "don't walk away!" "this is uncalled for!" and so on. But Faith wasn't a little kid anymore.
At least there was always somewhere to go; no matter what the Lexington's invited her in, and with open arms to say the least. Faith had to wipe her wet eyes just at the thought, but managed to completely dry them before the house even came into view. A smile of excitement to see Jack and the kids even found it's way to Faith's face. For precaution she gave a gentle tap at the door and waited, the peacekeepers always banged and barged in. With everything being so fresh she wanted to avoid giving anyone a heart attack with a simple knock.
