Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And the worst part is there's no one else to blame

I somewhat feel like there is going to be an argument. A small skirmish. But an objection never passes his lips. I am perfectly fine with that. More than fine, because this boy hasn't shown any indecency since we first met, except for a few speech problems that could be tweaked. But that's asking for too much, I think. "That's a better reason than the rest of us. Sometimes I question my own reasons." He pauses. "In fact, I rarely think of my proper reasons." Well, this is a first. When another career actually admits his or her own faults. I like these kind of people. These are the people that are proud enough to fall back and review the decisions they've made and actually see if they've made a mistake. Not be a snob who's nose is in the air and their ego is so large they can't even fit through a door. "Well, thank you. You're the first career I've ever heard say something like that." I smile.

"I like fightin', I find it fun. I like being able to win against people and all that. But fightin' is different from killing. If I'm honest I'm not sure what to expect when I volunteer. I'm assumin' it will be just the same, with a bit more tug n' pull. But anyways. I'm sure you've had this conversation a million times and more." I nod. I think of something strong to say, but I just can't seem to focus. "Killing is fighting when you have nothing to fight for. Fighting is when you have a reason, a decent reason, and mine would be a love for life." I reply, the words stumbling awkwardly out of my mouth. "And yes, I've had too many to count. But this is the first one that isn't so... aggressive, I suppose." I shrug, looking around. The big boys were all dancing around in a circle and pointing at some training females and laughing. Then one went to a girl and, the words I could catch, sounded flirtatious. Then they ran off. A weird game. Really weird.

"If the time comes that you need some help 'gainst the bad guys - " He nods over to the jesters of careers. "-I'll be just a click away." I let out a soft giggle I've never heard before and my smirk closes it. "Ah, maybe. The last one that tried to annoy me almost got amputated, so I doubt that they'll be any trouble. But I'll keep you in mind, just in case." I replied, picking up a knife and waving it around. I shouldn't be smiling, but I am. I set it back down and then there's awkward silence. Not the beautiful silence I like, but the silence that makes me feet shift and my body squirm. I don't like this involuntary movement. But it's there. I study the ground like it's the sky.
